TOTHK: Sweet Lou, "I Loves You Suzanne".  Not exactly rare, but a delightful "why wasn't this a hit single?"  BOS1

Lord, if you exist, deliver me from George Ezra.

Bad diction = big hit.

Late start today -- the Morning Show signoff wasn't until 10:02 by my clock, and then Budapest followed that. Kicking off now at 10:07.
Let's get right to it.

I requested Lou, but I asked for My Red Joy Stick, not ILYS, which is about the only song that gets played off New Sensations.

wow, the similarity between the Lou Reed tune and this Los Lobos "Don't Worry baby" is striking.

Lyres, "Help You Ann"  an AL rarity

Karate Kid "wax on, wax off" -- Smiths, "What Diff/Make?" which has made a number of appearances, iirc.

Remember when *any* Smiths song was a true rarity? Now it's a rare mid-80s set in which they DON'T appear. This one is at least a less-played one.

(Btw, the morning show played This Charming Man not a half hour ago. ETA: Which I see Mike called out in the KFOG but not 10@10 thread when it happened.)

Eurythmics, "Who's That Girl?", BOS3, tho' I associate it with '83 when it was a UK hit.

back in the day (the '90s) KFOG would not play them AT ALL -- I always found it odd that the 2 most-popular "alt" radio bands of the '80s were U2 and the Smiths, yet while KFOG played U2 endlessly they ignored Morrissey & Co.  Dave was even afraid to play them on 10@10 for quite a long time.
