Indeed. By 70 pop songs were definitey getting longer--it's those damn 67 sets that can be done in 32 minutes or less.  :wink:  (Like that's a problem...)

Agreed with Alicat on BOS1, and here's BOS2: BB King, The Thrill is Gone.

Hard to even conceive that this got played on Top 40 radio, but it did. Man, those were the days.

It's funny, but this song is so timeless that, until just now, if you'd asked  what year it was from I couldn't even have begun to guess.

But now I know.  :)

ETA:  so I got curious & looked up B.B.'s chart success on Allmusic.  He had 29 singles that made the Hot 100, but only 5 made the Top 40, and 3 of those were #38, #39 & #40.  At #15 this was by far his biggest Top 40 hit.  By contrast he had 25 top 15 hits on the Black Singles chart.
