27 Feb 2015: it's... an "encore" from 2002
« on: February 26, 2015, 08:31:24 PM »
Gotta assume another classic; given what we've heard this week I'm guessing either mid-'80s or a '00s set.  The "generic" promo ran again this AM.

A relatively recent "classic", from last July. But some decent songs, if we gotta go to 02. SPOILER ALERT!!!

  1.  Bruce Springsteen- Waitin' On a Sunny Day
  2.  Wilco- Jesus, Etc.
(TV: Scrubs)
  3.  Johnny Cash- Personal Jesus (B.O.S. Tie!)
(News: New Dept of Homeland Security)
  4.  Coldplay- In My Place
(News: Tom Ridge on new color coded terrorist threat system)
  5.  Doves- There Goes the Fear
  6.  Santana/ Michelle Branch- Game of Love
(Movie: Adaptation-Nicolas Cage asks waitress to come to an orchid show with him)
  7.  Norah Jones- Come Away With Me
(Movie: My Big Fat Greek Wedding)
  8.  Sheryl Crow- Soak Up the Sun
(Movie: Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers "you have no friends")
  9.  White Stripes- We're Going to Be Friends
(Muppets introduce Weezer!)
10.  Weezer- Keep Fishin' (B.O.S. Tie!)
Let's get right to it.

Lalalala, I can't hear you...

But really 2002 is no big deal for me. I do, however, think "Jesus, etc." is a great song.

Nice segue from threat levels into the Doves' "There Goes the Fear".

heard some of that Doves song (distractedly), but I was like who is this and why should I care? The singer had some Chris Martin Coldplay tonality, the music was some wall of guitar noise.  BTW, get off my lawn, too.

I changed over to the Sound's tribute to Leonard Nimoy set

Yah, I had no problem getting to the website, which itself is surprising since most radio stations are recognized by the stream nazi software. But launching the player did nothing apart from putting up the little message that said "getting station information", or something like that. Is that how you normally load it?

yeah, same thing here -- I hadn't listened to them in a while -- the pop-up player they used to have never worked for me -- some problem with Silverlight on our office PCs. But now I can't get the pop-up to, er, pop up. I wonder if this is another of those stations that don't actually stream but want you to download their audio app to your phone. Seems to be a coming trend.
