Given that Annie Lennox was unanimously voted the highlight of the Grammys last nite, it would be a fine day for AL to play my Tourists request. Jus' sayin'.

pre-set: really old Zep for the 2nd time this morning. ("Ramble On" in the 6:00 hour and now "Over the Hills...")  I guess KFOG plays the "mellow" Zep tracks that the Bone bypasses in favor of the louder stuff.

Ian Hunter! BOS1 "Cleveland Rocks"

I used to watch the Drew Carey show in re-runs quite a bit. Craig Ferguson was pretty great on that.  (ETA: I should explain if you don't know: this was the theme song for that show).

BOS for me as well. This should spin the heads of the Fogheads who only know this song as the theme from the Drew Carey Show.

(Btw, when Ian played here a couple years ago, he changed one or two choruses to "Portland rocks!" 'Cause it does.)
Let's get right to it.

3 Mile Island --> "Ghost Riders in the Sky" Johnny Cash. This was a kick to hear the first time AL surprised us with it, but now...

Holee campfire coffee.  Johnny Cash's Ghost Riders In The Sky.

I know this song, I know Johnny Cash, but I know nothing about the release of this song in 79.  Not that it matters, but it's an example of he deejay/programing going off the beaten path to put on a track that is unexpected, but not too freaking weird that it makes people think they're trying too hard.

Holee guacamole, the original Kirsty MacColl version of They Don't Know.

Standing by for the "Bay-BEEE!" (Which was ported over to the Tracey Ullman version, 'cause Tracey wasn't able to hit it just *so.*)
Let's get right to it.

Is this Kirstie McColley (sp?) doing They Don't Know About Us?

ETA: See correct spelling above  ;)

Kirsty MacColl's original version of They Don't Know

Lurve this song. I think I prefer Tracey Ullman sweetened-up voice on this.  It's also the version I first knew.

VHM for the soulful Dr. Hook. I don't much like this song, but I do like their variation of their sound.
