"solid, Jackson!" sez Don Pardo. Heh.

Billy Swan can help.  Elvis turned this one down, and then recorded it after Swan's version hit #1

I would love to have a list of all the various Pardo clips and phrases they have on file. That's one I haven't heard in a l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g while.

I always thought I Can Help was one that Ringo should have done. When this first came out I thought that's who it was.
Let's get right to it.

Zho Co-KAIR makes his expected appearance -- BOS2 just because.

And a lovely segue from "You are so Beautiful" to "For a Dancer". BOS3

You Are So Beautiful was playing in a restaurant on a first date once. It was embarrassing.

Agreed about the segue.

From Richard & Linda on, this set has taken a definite upswing. Woot!

Yes, including this well-worn Joni

Sorry you feel that way -- I always thought this was one of the best produced songs from this era (of anyone's, not just Joni), and it definitely signified her turn toward jazz from the folkier stuff she made her reputation on.

Ringo and Elvis should have recorded a duet cover of this called Reggae on Boogie Woman  ;D

Wet Willie, "Keep on Smilin'"

Annalisa tags it as a FF, too, in her backsell. Glad we're agreed on that.

it does get around. Good gospel-y blues, though. Somewhere I have a Wet Willie live album (on mp3) and it's pretty good. Those guys rocked.

BOS to Joe Cocker (of course), but Thompson twins and Joni are up there, too. Oh, and the Three Degrees! swoooon!

The Richard & Linda Thompson Twins would be a great combo cover band (a la Ted Zeppelin).
