yet another Gaz-tastic PBS Pledge-month '60s fest: Davy Jones, Paul Revere, and jeezus h christ it's the reunited Vogues!  But who's this blonde chick taking Grace's place with Airship Starplane?  She's hot!  She can smoke my caterpillar any time.

(Actually I think TJ Lubinski is hot, but that's just me)

ETA: damn, Little Anthony can still hit those high notes... Eddie Holman too. And Eddie Floyd is still s-s-s-smokin' at age 74.

And "This Diamond Ring" is still a perfect little pop song, even if Gary Lewis has limited talent.

OTOH, I never need to hear "Na-Na, Hey-Hey, Trina-Trina" ever again.

I had to look him up.  Wikipedia says this:

"His cherubic bear-cub appearance endears him to millions of viewers of all the oldies-format music programs airing periodically on the network."

Teehee!

Sitting here waiting for the computer doctor to arrive, and watching a fascinating docu on Sundance Channel, 30 Century Man, about Scott Walker of the Walker Bros.  David Bowie, Jarvis Cocker, Marc Almond, all singing his praises.

DAY-um!  TV-ONE, the black family-oriented cable channel, has a series called UnSung which is a sort of a less-sleazy Behind the Hits music documentary show. Just switched on a Cherrelle/Alexander O'Neal hour. Great stuff.

OMFG! Cherrelle's cousin is Pebbles! and that cheesy King Kong-themed video for "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" is a hoot.

in the middle of the Emmys was an Andy Samberg-and-friends musical number that was fairly amusing... until Akon came out and started singing off-key. He is easily one of the most untalented people to ever have a hit single.

Much better than last year's WTF choice - The Black Eyed Peas.  Let's hope she wears something more than a leotard, though.  On second thought - I smell a potential wardrobe malfunction in the making.  You know how she rolls...   :-\

Tweet of the day (from an unidentified Twitter user): “Comparing Obama to Hitler is almost as crazy as comparing Hank Williams Jr to his much, much more talented father.”

I wonder what Big Rick had to say about his boy Hank Jr?

Just watched the entire (3-1/2 hour) Scorsese George Harrison docu. Well worth your time. Don't go in expecting a straightforward bio -- it's rather collage-y, but lots of wonderful stuff.
