I'd been meaning to mention that one -- Ms Mullaly needs a new agent, methinks.

As if that commercial isn't enuf of an abomination, Megan Mullaly has quit the upcoming B'way revival of Terence Mcnally's "Lips Together, Teeth Apart" becaue they refused to fire her co-star, Patton Oswalt, who she apparently thought was terrible (it's his first appearance ina  play, apparently).  I *worship* Patton Oswalt -- Megan Mullaly is offically an Evil F---ing Bitch.

heh, maybe that's why it made me feel un-comfy! 

you should read the comments in the NYT article.  a few folks offer ideas about how it might not be Mullally's fault entirely, like perhaps the production was so crappy they just canceled to get more time, or the director is a a**h***.  After all, is it unreasonable that they would have at least *some* idea of a replacement or understudy in case a star like Mullaly quits?  Even so close to premier?

Mercy! tonite's classic Soul Train ep is an early '80s foray with a sequinned Luther Vandross doing "A House is Not a Home". How could black women not see that he was gay? Girlfriend, puh-LEEZE!

meant to post last nite: yesterday's Soul Train Classic was a fall-of-'82 show. A very young Janet Jackson, fresh from Good Times doing her first charted hit, "Young Love", and Michael McDonald before his hair went (completely) white doing "I Keep Forgettin'". Cornelius asked him to introduce the band and he casually points out Greg Phillinganes, Jeff Porcaro on drums, one of the Brothers Johnson... amazing.

Then there was a video of Stevie Wonder doing "Ribbon in the Sky" that was cheeze incarnate: there were actually, y'know, ribbons... and they were in the sky!  And Stevie was singing on what looked like the Love Boat.

and holy flaming mutha! presenting James with an award is a 19-year-old Al Sharpton! Mind-blowing.
