Square Pegs ---> Fleetwood Mac "Gypsy"

Is she making a conscious effort to play songs that were on KFOG's air at the time? Have past anniversary shows? If so, we're unlikely to get an Atomic Dog, say.

I guess another way to put it is, was KFOG's format at the beginning a mix of new wave and veterans playing, um, tasteful arena rock? Was anyone here listening to KFOG in the fall of '82?

Did anyone else notice she used "sledgehammer" to describe the Worlds Away video she posted last night? Also, I thought I saw one of these  ;) right after, but it's not there now (though the post was edited).

I think you're correct -- I wasn't here in '82 but I know that the general concept of KFOG then was "cool new songs" (which meant New Wavish stuff) combined with classics that were not overplayed (so, "She's the One" but not "Born to Run", for example).

Once again, I'm not too upset at having missed this one.

I was in Sacto, not SF at that time, but I remember listening to KFOG when visiting the city after hearing about it from friends. I recall they had a definite prog component, as I know I heard Genesis and Peter Gabriel and the like. They also played a bit of reggae, vestiges of which survived in the playlist until DC arrived. Kind of seems like that's been phased out in the last year or two.
Let's get right to it.

Per AL on FB, 2-way tie for BOS between Romeo Void and Fleetwood Mac.

ETA: Today's (and yesterday's) sets haven't been uploaded to Soundcloud as yet.
