Haha, hey Geoff, you'd appreciate this then. My buddy and I were at a Dead concert at Frost waiting for the show to start and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" came on. We remarked about how it has a Santana-like ending, and sure enough, the next song on the tape was a Santana song. Man, we just fell about the place.

Listening to records on the Dead's PA was awesome.  The best Hotel California I ever heard was at Winterland.  Mountain Jam at the Oakland Coliseum between NYE sets.

I remember hearing them play a Jimmy Smith album once before a Coliseum show that just floored me. I had to go up and ask what album it was.
Let's get right to it.

YOU GUYS!

I voted in the GS for Stones.  I always LURVE that song --  I cain't quit it.

But it was great to hear the Who, too.

I normally dig the mellow & pop stuff, but today, The Cat Man, Carole King, the Stampeders and Jonathan Edwards ("Sunshine") were making me feel crappy.  I missed the Jackson 5, though.  Had i heard that it might've put me in a better mood.
