This is lovely... a big BOS from me. Another artist who I would like to hear more
often on 10@10, and whose catalog contains gems not yet heard on the show.

I haven't gotten tired of hearing this one yet... in 1967 I was still listening to AM radio, which
meant top 40 format and the likes of WABC out of New York. I have specific memories of listening
to
San Francisco, along with
Itchycoo Park,
I Am the Walrus, and a handful of other songs
while spending many hours tinkering with various projects at my workbench in the cellar.

Mike, I'm pretty sure this is Glen Campbell's version, but Hartford is likely one of the backing musicians on the track.
Would love to hear a Smothers Brothers clip in this set--they were in their heyday in 67, too.
Smothers Brothers would indeed be a perfect clip and would be in line with AL's style -- her clips
tend to be more commercial and entertainment based. One thing I miss is Dave's news clip
summaries, where a montage of quotes tells the story in sixty seconds or so.
"Waterloo Sunset" is something of an AL-trina at this point but BOS6 anyway. Sublime.
Apparently Dave never played it, but it has been making yearly appearances since his departure.
It seems that lately there are more songs being played that are LN, yet haven't been spun that
many times. I think this has something to do with how sets are constructed these days. More
speculation later...
San Francisco and
Mellow Yellow may indeed be LN, but they have only been played
a handful of times each.
Indeed, just about every thing in today's show is in the low-spin category, and even
Dandelion,
the closest thing to a FF, has just under ten. Yet there were no bust-outs. You can't walk ten
paces in 1967 without stepping on a bust-out. A blindfolded monkey could throw ten darts over
its shoulder at 1967 and at least one of them would hit a bust-out.
I think today was another Franken-set -- a show assembled using a few elements (songs and
clips) from three or four other shows.
