Post set question: That solar energy ad that plays on the stream pretty regularly--is that Will Durst doing the voiceover there?
Let's get right to it.

I think so.  He does VOs for labor unions, too.  "hey guys, Will durst here, Infrastructure is really important.  We need new roads... etc.."  The ads are like general awareness ads paid for by unions and don't target a specific issue beyond how it's critical that things get built.

unidentifiable clip --> LN2 McDoobs, "What A Fool Believes"

Oy, that has been on my "never need to hear again" list since the first time I heard it.

Yes, very overplayed.  But I have always loved this song.

Joe Walsh on guitar....!  (if you love it, is it REALLY overplayed???)

He musta meant Thunder Island. I can certainly imagine him doing that slide guitar. There's no guitar to speak of on Fool.

oh yeah, oops. my mistake.  Joe Walsh is on Thunder Island. The guitar player on the Doobs hit (heh) must be Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.

btw, you know the story of Skunk Baxter?  he brought Michael McDonald over to the Doobies when Tom Johnston, the first main singer, got ill and had to leave the group. Skunk had worked w McDonald as session musicians for Steely Dan and told the other Doobies "I know a dude who can sing pretty well.."

Bonus: Skunk is now some sort of missile defense expert, self-taught, and I think has testified for some congressional subcommittees or some such.

He's actually a bit of a right-wing crank, and has run for Congress as a Republican, iirc.
