1997 actually, per AL's clue "the loss of Mother Teresa & the Princess Diana was felt around the world."

Not a bustout, but a very good selection. One day we'll get "Chemistry" in a 2001 set.

Austin Power International Man of Mystery clip --> Tommy Castro, Can't Keep a Good Man Down

Blooze. Apparently an original song. Apparently local.

Agreed, although I can't say I remember ever hearing it before. Nice start to the set in any case.
Let's get right to it.

Unrecognizable film clip --> White Town, Your Woman

I guess I'll try this hat on: FF or LN or 'trina or something.

Good Will Hunting clip --> The Verve, Lucky Man

I'll cop to being a Verve fan and happy to hear this one.

This appeared in a "luck" set last year - I will cop to enjoying it.

Jackson Browne, The Next Voice You Hear

I was going to write that this guy sounds like Jackson Browne. This isn't bad; it's not just a rehash of his old stuff.

Another NTM. And a BOS contender, fo' sho'.

Before I learned here that this was in fact the Verve, it crossed my mind that "Gee, someone copped the string section from Bittersweet Symphony." But I guess they can't be acccused of copping from themselves, can they?

Let's get right to it.

From "The Simpsons":

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Jackson Browne"

(audience cheers)

"With an offering from his latest album"

(audience boos)
