Uh oh George Harrison "Got My Mind Set On You" ... RGMike must be going nuts!

ETA: is KFOG really incapable of putting together a decent 10@10 set from the late '80s forward?

traditionally, yes, since the Morey era this has been the worst year.  But given the requests made last nite, there are no excuses today.

BOS2 Raising Arizona.

I'll actually VHM John Hiatt in this company.

That's kind of where I'm going, too. No competition so far.
Let's get right to it.

Just recently learned that this, in fact, is a cover (originally recorded by James Ray in 1962).
Yah, I wasn't aware of that for a long time. It actually made me feel better about the song, since it seems like an awfully weak song, both lyrically and musically, but the George treatment definitely adds something to it.

Then of course there is the Weird Al interpretation "This Song Is Just Six Words Long".

The Harrison version was one of the few songs to have two videos played on MTV, if memory serves.

Totally agree -- and I've got a soft spot for mindless bubble-gum pop songs...
Now I'm eight bits...

VHM  Bourgeois-Tagg, "I Don't Mind at All", always pleasant but far from rare in this context.

At least a better choice for BOS than Hiatt.

And outdistancing Westerberg et al is Sacramento's own Bourgeois Tagg. Heard this on the radio *a ton* circa 87. And then the band broke up and three of them became Todd Rundgren's backing band.
Let's get right to it.

FB note: Props to SRW for busting balls on FP, who was pissing and moaning about the lack of Springsteen in the set. Quoth she: "Yeah, we dodged a bullet there."

Ha! Every now and then SRW delivers a nugget. And yep, I don't believe anything from "Tunnel Of Love" would've made this set memorable.

AL has an interesting explanation for today's set in the GS "Best of" Thread.

OK, it's an hour past the end of the set and I'll be damned if I've heard her announce a BOS winner. But I *have* sat thru Of Monsters and Men and Jack Johnson--grrrr. Perhaps BOS is no longer a thing?
