I can't believe I've gotten as far as a BOS 3, but: Voice of the Beehive,  "Monsters & Angels". Tho' I prefer their earlier stuff.

Thanks for taking care of that Mark. I had hoped to check in & give that my BOS during the set, but had a major clusterf*ck here at work this am, so just got to listen, not participate.

Webb Wilder, Last of the Full Grown Men (he's something like 6'7"). And a darn fine guitarist. He released a new record some time in the last 6 months or so--need to hunt that up.

I was listening while taking a road trip. Not a bad set. I'm alone in VHM for Girlfriend and BOS for Mark Knopfler. Masterful guitar work. Show tomorrow night, YAY!

I don't get Matthew Sweet.  Sure, I like fuzztone guitar, but I've heard much, much better.

I'm kind of over "Girlfriend."  But his In Reverse album is an utter masterstroke.  Especially if you like Walls of Sound, Carol Kaye on bass, and Greg Leisz on pedal steel & other guitars.


I'm kind of with Gaz here--love Matthew Sweet, but need to hear something besides the same two or three songs off Girlfriend--Divine Intervention, or Winona perhaps (one assumes the latter is about Ms. Horowitz?). Also, my pick for his unappreciated masterpiece is Altered Beast, the record that followed Girlfriend. Don't know about Carol Kaye, but I think Greg Leisz and Robert Quine are all over it--late 20th Century power-pop at its best.
