As for dinner, let me do a little checking.
I've always wanted to go to Farallon (Post near Powell), and so took the liberty of getting a reservation. If that's really not what you guys want to do I can always cancel.
I've been there once, back just after they opened. It's a pretty cool story, how that came about, but I'll save it for dinner conversation. Anyway, I had the Blackened Sea Bass, and it was tremendous. Yum.
