Ah well, I was enjoying this set, and there goes the stream again.  Seems like about the same time as before....
Now I'm eight bits...

This does seem like a regular thing the last several days. Might we worth a note to the KFOG techmeisters.

Btw, we're now hearing Georgie M's Faith, if you're still offline.
Let's get right to it.

Well I don't feel bad about missing that 'trina -- but this has been one of Dave's better '87 sets in some time.

Whoa! I believe this is the Cure, and possibly another bustout, but I don't know them well enough to ID the song.

ETA: It was Why Can't I Be You.

Bon Jovi got BOS. And Dave copped to playing Faith too much in 87 sets!!! My god!! Now THAT'S a first!
Let's get right to it.

I wanna say Dave's played "WCIBY" before, but I always say that...

At least he didn't play "Faith" right after Jim'n'Tammy as per usual.

In this case, you're right. Checked the DB, and it's gotten played exactly once before--in 2005.
Let's get right to it.

Not only a first, but he's wrong!  This is the year of Robbie Nevil and Crowded House, George is WAAAAAAY down the list.

Here are the Katrina's from 1987:

Robbie Nevil - C'est La Vie - 37.8%
Squeeze - Hourglass - 32.4%
Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over - 27.0%
Crowded House - Something So Strong - 27.0%
Pretenders - Don't Get Me Wrong - 27.0%
Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth - 24.3%
BoDeans - Dreams - 21.6%
Jesus & Mary Chain - April Skies - 21.6%
World Party - All Come True - 21.6%

"Faith" heads the list of songs that were one more play away from joining the over 20% crowd, which also includes today's R.E.M. entry.

George Michael - Faith
Jon Astley - Jane's Getting Serious
Love & Rockets - No New Tale To Tell
R.E.M. - It's The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
Rock & Hyde - Dirty Water
Wang Chung - Everybody Have Fun Tonight
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Belated props to Dave for the segue of the villainous Ollie North into "Little Lies."  That chapter of history has yet to be grasped.

And what a complementary trio they were, at their best: Christine's effortless melody and efficiency; Lindsey's remarkable (or cokeheadist) perfectionism; Stevie's dreamy intuitions.  Rhythm section got to take a well-deserved break by Tango in the Night.

Is there a set from 1987 that DOESN'T include Crowded House??
