Famed NYC DJ Dan Ingram used to make that joke virtually *every* time he played it (and it got played a LOT that summer on Top 40 WABC). Amazing some of the stuff he got away with.

well neither "Another Park, Another Sunday", nor "Overnight Sensation" are cheese, but they certainly are tasty, especially back-to-back like this.

A most remarkable TANC: Literally this morning, I sent a review to an indie artist named Stuart D'Rozario.  His sound reminded me of Al Stewart -- thin, crisp, reedy voice -- and one song had backing vocals *just like these* on APAS, and I told him so.  How weird for it to come up on the dial the same day.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

OMFGWTFLOL!!! "So You Are a Star", the Hudson Brothers (Kate's dad), a wonderful lost nugget. BOS and proxy of Gaz.  I'm in awe.

Hudson Brothers, wow.  I remember watching the Hudson Brothers show.  Didn't last long.  Pretty credible Paul McCartney impression.

I was just thinking, while listening to the replay, how much I'd enjoy hearing Ben Folds or Linus of Hollywood cover this.  Or, hell, Jellyfish, who've impersonated Sir Paul on more than one occasion.

And I was just thinking it's really a Macca imitation by way of Eric Carmen.

And I was just thinking how much Jon Brion's singing style resembles whichever Hudson Bro is singing lead on this song. Which, of course, resembles all of the above.
Let's get right to it.
