Oh. My. Effing. God. Lonely Days, Lonely Nights. Major sledgehammer.

A truly superior set. This is one for the ages, no question.

So your gonna archive it, right?

A concerted effort will be made, yes.
Let's get right to it.

VHM Mr Mojo Risin', which of course is an anagram for Jim Morrison.

Of course, so is JIM SIR MORON.

Annalisa was lurking, and stole this for the bonus track quiz!

ETA:  If I could have gotten through I would have picked Zep as well, but I would have asked for "When the Levee Breaks".  Still, when was the last time KFOG played "Stairway..."?

Paging Darryl....

I'd have picked Slippin Into Darkness myself, but gotta say, ol' Percy et al aren't sounding too bad here.  Who'd a thunk?

OMGWTF! BOS4 Diana, "Remember Me" -- didn't I just recently call this a "forgotten gen" when VIP played it?  I think this is a Morey breakout.

It got my BOS vote on da replay.  The ILM Board's just recently had a spirited discussion over who has a better career body of work, Diana Ross or Donna Summer.  (It's still in debate whether to count Diana's Supremes work.)  What I really like about "Remember Me" is that Diana doesn't exhibit that all-consuming urge to make a song "hers"; she just sings the hell out of it where she needs to and gives others space where she needs to.  One of her best from the decade, along with "My Mistake" and "The Boss."

proxy Gaz BOS, "LA Goodbye"

which is a complete Narada to me, BTW -- no NYC airplay whatsoever, I'd never heard it until Dave and Bob came along.

Thanks; it'll have to share the vote with La Ross, though.  But do you know how badly I would love to produce a vocal group covering this?  If you'll allow me some hubris, I think I could do some really good things with this song.  (I have a few other songs in mind for which I feel the same way.)

So if I ever move back there, would anyone be interested in forming a '70s cover band, based in sunshine pop, trash singles, and bubblegum, called AM Gold?  It's been a backburner dream of mine for a few years now.
