Wow, some of the segues were recycled from previous sets (e.g. Valley Of The Dolls--->Funky Broadway; The Avengers--->I Can See For Miles; The Trip--->See Emily Play). I wonder how RGMike would feel about this set... letdown, perhaps?
I won't pretend to know how RGMike would feel about this set, but I know how I feel... On the
one side of the ledger, 1967 is a very strong year and even songs with a high LNQ sound pretty
good. And today's set continues the general trend we've been seeing with AL 2.0 -- most of
the tracks haven't been played a lot on 10@10 (even if some are LN). So I found today's set
very pleasant. On the other side, little new ground is being broken, and it almost seems like
one would have to intentionally work at that with a year like this. I didn't find today's set
rousing, inspiring, surprising, or delightful. It could have been at least some of those things.
I don't expect much from the late '70s, but a late '60s set should be much better.
BOS for the Beach Boys, Richie Havens, and Pink Floyd.
