VHM2: the Iggles' "Sad Cafe", Henley does this sort of thing better than most. And it's one of the cuts from Long Run that doesn't get overplayed. Tho' I'd've preferred "The Greeks Don't Want No Freaks"...

Not me, "Greeks..." is one of my least fave Iggles tunes.  "Sad Cafe" otoh, is a minor masterpiece.

Sorry, but I still think the Scissor Sisters did a far better take on "Comfortably Numb."

indeed, it totally rules. Immensely clever. And you can dance to it. I give it an 87.

BOS to that Dog Day Afternoon clip.  I'd forgotten how powerful that was.

LOL!  I love it when Pacino goes over the top.

Did I tell you guys about the ringtone I downloaded from Frank Caliendo (of Mad TV fame) wherein he does that exact bit? (with a very good Pacino impression. too)  Goes like this...

I'm out of order!?
You're out of order!
YOU'RE out of order!!
THIS WHOLE PLACE IS...
...hold on, I got a phone call.

BOS to Cheap Trick while I'm at it.

2 frink points for Mike, -2 pts for Gaz.

ETA: the obligatory over-the-top Pacino moment in Dog Day Afternoon was "ATTICA!!!  ATTICA!!!"

for the record, my favorite quote from DDA is the following exchange

Sonny: Kiss me.
Det. Sgt. Eugene Moretti: What?
Sonny: Kiss me. When I'm being fucked, I like to get kissed a lot.

I'll tell you my favorite line from LoB if you tell me yours.

Can't resist.

"He's NOT the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!!!"

Runner-up: "I'll have two round ones, a flat one, and a packet of gravel."

And yours?
Let's get right to it.

Brian has enjoyed a conjugal visit with his girlfriend & is awakening in the early morning.  He goes to the window & throws open the curtain only to find that in the alley below are the assembled masses of his 'followers'.  He hastily covers his nakedness with the curtain, while the congregation cries out, "Teach us master!"  He says "Love one another" & a lays a few other homilies on them & concludes with, "You should be individuals."

To which the crowd responds in perfect unison, "We ARE Individuals!!!"

...except for one disgruntled fellow who stomps off, muttering, "Well I'm not."

This to me is the second greatest line in history, right after Marcel Marceau has the only spoken line in Mel Brooks' Silent Movie.

...which tells you all you need to know about my perverse sense of humor.

Crowd (to Brian's mother):  Are you a virgin?
Brian's mother:  I'm not going to tell you that!
Person in crowd:  Yep, she's a virgin...
