No clues as of 8:30am. I fear today may be our first 2004 set.

BOS, Mr. Cash, though this is pretty much ruined by it's commercial use.

OK so it's '96, per the FB posters.  Another '96 set without solicited suggestions doesn't appeal to me so i'll stay on The Boardwalk.  If any of my past requests turn up (fat chance!), I'll catch 'em tonite

"If It Makes You Happy" - the only decent Sheryl Crow song, IMO.  Could be because it reminds me of "Tumbling Dice" on morphine.

"Mother, Mother", I'm PMSing and I wrote a song about it!  Nice guitars, but overall, yiiiikes.

BOS Everclear's "Santa Monica".  I love songs about California!

From your lips to DC's ears.  Imperial Teen, too -- these are Live 105 songs that (presumably) hit the demo he's aiming for.

9/27/11- Tuesday! Stopping Everywhere in...1996!

 1.  Cake- The Distance
 2.  Johnny Cash- I've Been Everywhere (B.O.S!)
(Movie: Fargo- Marge interviews the "hookers")
 3.  Garbage- Stupid Girl
 4.  Nada Surf- Popular
(Ad: Cal Bears)
 5.  Sheryl Crow- If It Makes You Happy
 6.  Sting- I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying
(News: Pres Clinton's Welfare Reform)
 7.  Tracy Bonham- Mother Mother
 8.  Dishwalla- Counting Blue Cars
(TV: Friends-Lisa Kudrow and Chris Isaak)
 9.  Chris Isaak- Think of Tomorrow
(Movie: Fargo)
10. Everclear- Santa Monica

seeing this list, I've gotta give a BOS to the Sting tune, one of his nicest from that period -- and the Toby Keith (!) cover of it that was a country hit was also mighty fine.

Probably one of her better 1996 sets.  BOS's to Johnny Cash, Nada Surf, Sting.  VHM Tracy Bonham.  90's 10 @ 10's are turning into a collection of Cake's greatest hits but "The Distance" was a good TOTHC.  But, "Counting Blue Cars," while not a bad song, was unnecessary, especially the acoustic version (I would have been tickled pink if she had played "Charlie Brown's Parents" instead.)  Also, Chris Isaak seems to get stuffed into the mix every chance she gets.  It would do 10 @ 10 good to go Chris Isaak-less for a few weeks, in my opinion.

I heard most of it last nite and it was better than I was imagining it to be as I read comments while listening to something else in the morning. That Sting song really is good. Really.

Indeed, even if we're not getting a daily rarity/bustout fest anymore (although I'm not sure too many of AL's orevious 90s sets could have been considered that), a couple of 'em sprinkled in with a good flow and proper segues & clips, can make for a very listenable set, as long as there's nothing overly banal.
