Nope, Gavin Rossdale and Bush. They were all the rage for a couple years. I was a little surprised they faded so quickly--he's got a fairly distinctive inflection in his voice and I thought their songs were a cut above most of the rest of alterna-rock fodder. The solo record he put out this year didn't do much at all.

he ain't no hollaback boy.  I recall KFOG played that solo thing quite a bit, didn't they?

I think it was, too.  Didn't they also do a pointless Cure cover which got some airplay?

You're right that that was their big hit, but the song I'm thinking of is "Never Let You Go", which I've heard a lot more in the recent past.  I had to go to AMG and listen to figure it out.

2 97 sets from AL and 2 Katrinas already. (Everlong and The Impression That I Get.)  Nonetheless I liked this set, a bit Hot AC-ish, but still not bad & very 1997.  And yes, it was a near-complete trip down Hits 106 memory lane  ;D - the only one they didn't play was Get Out the Map...although they did play some of their other ones like Shame On You (Get Out the Map WOS...I wonder if the Indigo Girls will ever figure out how to not be boring).

Appreciated some of the lesser-known tracks from fairly prolific bands...Greedy Fly, All Around the World and my fave Everclear track, Everything to Everyone (BOS).

I used to hate everything about the OMC song.  It didn't help that it still got played to death until about 2003 or 2004.  When I heard it today I realized now I'm indifferent to it.

Did AL play the entire 10 minute version of "All Around The World"? If so, give that BOS. Otherwise, Everclear. WOS Sister Hazel - never got into that one.

Song I'd love to hear from 1997, but probably won't: Meredith Brooks, "What Would Happen".

I think it was the short ver. of All Around the World.

What Would Happen would be good, though even more than that I'd love to hear Stop by Meredith Brooks (and preferrably the radio mix - I was never able to locate it)

I'd love to hear Barbie Girl.  Although I did see in the db that Dave played it in his '97 set which I sadly missed.
