No kidding, Curtis. BOS Superfly.

Was this still on the charts in early '73?  I think of this as a '72 song but it could be an overlapper. But I'll BOS5 anyway.

I associate it with the fall of 72, but I suppose it could have lingered into 73.

From AMG:

Quote
Selling over a million copies as the follow-up to the gold single "Freddie's Dead," "Superfly" went gold, peaking at number five R&B and number eight pop in late 1972. The Superfly LP went gold, topping the R&B charts for six weeks and the pop chart for four weeks. A tidbit for movie buffs.
Let's get right to it.

I never quite understood the lyrics to Kodachrome ... but still loved it anyway.

Stories were whiter than white

And I still say Janis Ian adressed the problem far more impressively in 1967.

TANC: "Society's Child (Baby I've Been Thinking)" was one of the songs I was listening to while strolling Boston's Back Bay Thursday afternoon.  I had a compilation of 1967-1969 pop songs, many of which had some sort of baroque/harpsichordy constructions ("Love Is Blue," etc.).

PS: Geoff, thanks for deleting the spambot post from yesterday.  I know I get paranoid and impatient about that stuff but I've seen how such invasions can utterly ruin message boards.  Your work remains greatly appreciated.
