The Drive, 8/15/06: 1965

my only access to "Just Like Me" was on a cassette mix where I'd luckily taped it several years before.  It was on 3WS as the time passed the hour, so the station broadcast a short beep.  Happened during the solo.  And still, all these years later, I hear that beep in my head when they get to that point in the song.  I get locked into hearing things a certain way.  (I also hear in my head "Just Like Me" segueing into "Sweet Caroline" at the end.)

I have several song memories like that, also due to taped-off-the-radio cassettes I made in High school. I once taped "Happiness is a warm Gun" and inadvertantly sang along; whenever I hear HIAWG I can still hear my adolescent voice harmonizing (badly) with John on that tape.
