BOS #4 INXS, "Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down the Mountain)" from Listen Like Thieves, the album nobody plays anymore.

BOS2 to "Mission-Are-Ee Man."  Never knew why Annie pronounced it that way, I've never heard anyone else ever do so.

BOS #5, "Missionary Man".

wherein Annie Lennox claims to be Cain & Abel's long-lost sister.

Running gag.  When I met Dave in college, his roommate was also named Dave.  This Dave became Dave* to distinguish, and still to this day signs off his emails that way.

BOS #6 Art of Noise!

ETA: Has Dave ever had this good a set from '86?  I recall he had a pretty good one recently, but...

Bruce Hornsby/Every Little Kiss
R.E.M./Cuyahoga
MOVIE CLIP FROM: Stand By Me
John Mellencamp/Under the Boardwalk
Inxs/Kiss the Dirt (Falling down the Mountain)
Rolling Stones/One Hit (to the Body)
Til Tuesday/Coming Up Close
Federal Express "fast talker" commercial
Paul Simon/The Boy in the Bubble
George Satellites/Keep You Hands to Yourself
Eurythmics/Missionary Man
MOVIE CLIP FROM: Peggy Sue Got Married
Art of Noise/Peter Gunn Theme

...and Mark, to answer your question -- aside from the REM which woulda been a Dave bustout, I thought this set was rather Moreyesque, actually.  I love Ginger's '80s sets but I don't think this one was that far ahead of Dave. His '86 set from last week gets the nod from me for "Papa Don't Preach" alone.

Well actually, SIX of those songs would have been bustouts in the Darryl Db (not counting the Bruce Hornsby, which Dave plays in '87 sets).  The closest thing to a Katrina would, believe it or not, have been Art of Noise.
