Stream of Consciousness / odd cover

the first time I heard it -- a couple years later, I was 13 or 14 at the time -- I was dumbfounded. I'd never heard a pop song in which such anger and venom were so freely spewed. I was forever changed.

You guys know I like Jerry Garcia and Co., and he does a great cover of this song with Merl Saunders.  The chord progression lends itself well to his approach.  But, that venom, that bile that Dylan spews, is best done by Dylan.  "What a drag it is to see you!"

Although being down here in Aneheim, I can't wait to get back home.

The Vogues, "Five O' Clock World."  What an inspired arrangement.

I just came in at the end, but I always loved this song too!  Kind of the end of an era, beginning of another.  I think 1965 is a cusp year.

can't post just a subject w/o text here. What about the nm feature?

well, I changed the system clock to GMT -8, and looked in the configuration, and noticed something called a 'flood settin' to limit posts to 15 seconds apart.  If you think that's too long to wait between tests, I'll shorten it.  I imagine that was developed to protect forums from intentionally, or unintentionally being 'bombed' by too many posts.

No matter what goes on, it won't be exactly like discserver.  There will be some advantages, and some disadvantages.  If you want total spontanaity, I could just open up a java chat room.

How can the clock be changed?

You last visited on Wed Jan 19, 2005 6:44 am
The time now is Fri Jan 21, 2005 5:37 am

Trust me, I am NOT online at 5:37am. Still in snooze city.

I'll look into what I can do globally, but in your personal preferences, you set your time zone.  I believe those of us out here ar GMT -8, whereas Gaz would be GMT -5

Since I have set my preferences, it says you posted at 9:40 PM, does that seem right?

hope i dont waste the entire day posting on the internet...

yeah, too true.  I'll be in the car all day, driving to LA, so I'll check in from time to time.  I wonder how much lost productivity to the economy is caused by Dave Morey and his marvelous 10@10?

Holla!

when I logged in this morning, I saw the icon to the left of the topic Ali started colored brown, so I knew there was a new message there.  I would guess that since Gaz didn't register, he might not see the same thing next time.  Let me know if this isn't true.

Not sure why I work on the computer all day then attach myself to it again at night.

so, here's a reply to a message, and you can see that there's a new message, if you've signed in before, because theres a brown tag next to it.

On this level, you could choose to label the subject today's date, or the song that's playing.  The replies get nested down one layer.

Oh well, just play  with it, see how it works. Also, it's a lot easier to navigate if you register, so the message board knows which messages are new next time.  I can also disable direct access to email addresses, so people can send you email, but they don't know your address.

All good things in all good time.

oh yeah, lots of silly smilies and such.
