2 Oct 2020: 1976 Playlist from Geoff

Ironically, I'm posting early today because I'm having a COVID-19 test at 10!  I'm having knee replacement surgery on Tuesday, and it's required of course. I'll be back in a while, and hope to comment some more.  I kind of built this around one song.  We'll see if you can guess.

There really was a lot of decent music in '76.  Had to let some good ones slide.

Some modern version in an ad for Esri location services.

I found an article about the song, which is credited to Nas.  This certainly stretches the limits of fair use/sampling as far as I'm concerned:

I can't imagine this hasn't been noted before, but it just dawned on me that I've been seeing the Kraft cheese commercials, featuring Enya's "Only Time" for quite a while!

The only time I saw him play was at Winterland, when they recorded Wheels of Fire.

This was such a big loss for me, I don't quite know what to say.  I met him a couple of times, and hope to put some words together.

So, earlier this week, channel 2 news reported that KFOG will be no more as of 9/6, and will be simulcasting KNBR from then on.

Probably somewhere else in the posts I'm way behind on...

Good to see you Rod!

I am an amateur. But also, now that I see how beautifully MShray cleaned up my craptastic data scrapings, I would like to make this into a bonafide database. Or at least something that's more easily searchable and formatted.

Looking to see if there's any SMF modules that let have an arbitrary database that's searchable.

Darryl, let's get together sometime to go over the site's capabilities.  I'm getting overwhelmed by some of the tech stuff.
