Could be '60s; could be another '80s or '70s set; could be a "Time" theme set for Daylight Savings.
ETA: it's also International Women's Day Maybe...? Nah.
-
Vague Renee clue: before she was born -- gotta be sometime in the 1960's.
-
Renee: "a year from a time before I was born". So, 1947, then?
-
TOTHK - Stevie Wonder "I Was Made To Love Her" - 1967

Stevie was born to love Renee. Of course, he's blind.

A song so nice we heard it...thrice!?!?!
There's going to be some major editing going on with this one before it gets replayed tonight. I can just hear the bitching going on over on FB.

Procol Harum "A Whiter Shade Of Pale"

Arthur Conley wanted Otis to "feel it". No, he REALLY wanted Otis to "feel it"

If she wanted to show she has a sense of humor she should play it again every couple songs for the rest of the set. But we know that ain't gonna happen either.

The Cowsills "The Rain, The Park and Other Things"
-
VHM Cowsills

I Love The Flower Girl.
This one gets played on our local oldies station at least a couple times a week, so I have heard it a bunch over the last few years. Still great--BOS candidate.

Wow, I've probably heard it a couple times in my lifetime. Well, I exaggerate, but not more than a few times. Nice harp.

another Morey-era relic: Harry Harrison with army recruiting radio and "Purple Haze"

Jimi Hendrix Experience "Purple Haze"
People must have been stunned when they heard that riff opening this song. Totally out there. I love "Purple Haze".

exactly, you fake it till you make it.
Don't bring attention to your mess-ups. Chances are most people haven't noticed. Not here, of course. but in most cases.

Most certainly not. Sounds as if they've been going thru the tapes of Dave's old sets and editing out some of the vintage clips. They're using his bumpers and year IDs quite a bit too.
-
James Brown "Cold Sweat"
-
for GAWD'S SAKE, Mrs Robinson! I'm in a cold sweat!

Canned Heat "On The Road Again"

Yeah, I agree. The groove is kinda cool, but that dude's singing ruins it.
-
word is this song is from April 1968..
Yay! the old Renee is BACK!

That seems like a fair amount of work (which could be put into original research, say).

The Box Tops "The Letter"

WOS Kermit the Frog, on the road again.
Maybe it's a parlor trick -- "watch me sing this song while drinking this glass of water!".
I wouldn't WOS it myself because it's a pretty cool groove otherwise.

it had never occurred to me until Gaz mentioned it. And a meme was born.
BOS2 BoxTops, a stone classic I never tire of.

The Box Tops "The Letter"
Funny, I've always connected the Boxtops with the Grass Roots. I think I had them confused a lot of the time. And here they are in the same set.
Dang that song is short. Must be 1:50.

I assumed Dave left an archive of all his 10@10-centric sounders when he retired (Technically they may have been the station's property), but lately I've been hearing more of the clips he used between sets--ads, and things like the aforementioned Harry Harrison bit. Yeah, editing might take a bit of effort but with ProTools or another good audio editing program you could knock out a fair number of clips in an hour or two.
