Peter Young's "Soul Cellar" feature on London's Jazz-FM (worth checking out every week) did a segment on Babbit. Amazing that he played on all of these:

Edwin Starr – Agent Double-O Soul
The Capitols – Cool Jerk
The Platters – With This Ring
The Flaming Ember – Westbound No. 9
100 Proof Aged In Soul – Somebody’s Been Sleeping In My Bed
The Temptations – Ball Of Confusion
The Undisputed Truth – Smiling Faces Sometimes

This link gets you Peter Young's entire 3-hr podcast (or should); the Soul Cellar is the last hour but it's an interesting show all around

he came over to my booth in the early 90's at Nashville NAMM, and I was totally in awe.  There I was, talking to the guy who played bass on "Mercy, Mercy Me." We had a nice talk, he gave me his phone number, but I was too shy to ever call.  It was an honor for him to try out my basses, even if nothing ever happened as a result.
