And requests for "Signs" and "Enjoy The Silence" are already in. Let's make it better. While I love Depeche Mode, we don't need to hear that.

Yup, all the DM singles from Violator are pretty played out (Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus, Policy of Truth).
Wouldn't mind hearing Jellyfish's "The Man I Used to Be" (haay) or The Heart Throbs "Dreamtime". :)
ETA: Someone just requested "Save Me San Francisco". Sweet Jesus.

What's up with this Roger Whitehouse dude? How hard is it to follow instructions? Maybe he's a friend of Silly Foghead?
I've asked for "the usual" in 1990 (and also +1'd Lisa Stansfield). I'm guessing this will be fairly boring and I may miss it anyway -- 10am meeting that I probably can't find an excuse not to attend.
ETA: I will indeed be in a meeting so I'll miss this one -- I expect a full report, kids!

how appropriate: The stream was about 5 minutes behind the air and was still shoveling ads, while the first song is Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence (Bitches)

my students think this is Depeche Mode

Dayum. TC beats me to the punch! ;)

WOS1 Queensryche. Eh, I guess it's a "silent/silence" twin-spin.

Oh man, not Midnight Oil again!

I don't get the hate for this one, apart from its ubiquitousness (?). I like it. And I like the Black Coffee->Black Velvet segue. If only we could hear Black Coffee in Bed, but that ain't 90s.
-
BOS2 "This Is How It Feels"- Inspiral Carpets!!!!!!!!
Clint Boon (the keyboardist) is the afternoon DJ for XFM in Manchester. A great one, at that.
I never quite got the hoopla over Everything But The Girl.

BOS3 Snap! The Niners got the powahhhh!

Once again we are on the same page, baby! Never liked that one, and Dave played it often for some odd reason.
Glad I missed this thing -- quite sheesh-worthy from what I'm reading here.

Is this the same set that everyone was hating on? :o Have to catch the replay but it looks like it's among my top ~4% of 10 @ 10's. Something for everyone (Depeche Mode, Snap, Paul Simon, Aerosmith, Inspiral Carpets, EBTG, and Enigma -- can't say that's not diverse) & thrilled to see not only both of the songs I +1'd appear, but also the song I requested at least a half dozen times for 1991 sets (up to now to no avail) to not only finally appear, but also get BOS! ;D

Kudos for getting a request but too many frequent-fliers there (granted, some from the Dave, not the AL era, but still). Again, these '90s sets are about expectation for me: if there's a ton of interesting requests and most are ignored in favor of stuff like "Black Velvet"...
ETA: I'd've sworn Dave played Enigma at least once , but apparently not. So that's another bustout.

BOS to Snap and the Inspiral Carpets (and if she ever plays "Smoking Her Clothes" I'll give it BOW).
"Driving" is a Tier 2 sledgehammer for me.
Least Necessary: DM, Midnight Oil

3. Enigma - Sadeness (Part I) (B.O.S!)
Just to make it official how clueless I am, I went over to iTunes to check the spelling of this song, as I thought maybe Mike was making a joke!

Another reason why this song blows. (Oops...sorry Rad!)

Hahaha! I never could figure out if they were referrinf "Shar-day" or the Marquis de Sade.
Now that AL's played that she really oughta give us some Candy Dulfer next time '91 rolls around.

Maybe that's just how they spell it in Germany.
& Haha...well, if she plays your Destiny's Child request then I'll have my chance to get even. ;)

After listening, this set didn't flow as nicely as I'd hoped it would, but still full of worthy tunes imo. I don't mind re-hearing the frequent fliers that we've heard in the Dave era...as long as we don't hear them every single time we hit this year. I still cannot express how tickled I was to hear Enigma. ;D Back in the day, I taped that song off of Open House Party and recorded it over and over on both sides of the casette and must have played the tape every night for a few years while going to sleep.
