If it is, I'll be mad that I wasn't able to request "Camera One" by the Josh Joplin Group.

The version with or without Mark Z. Danielewski?

The one without -the one with frankly jumped the shark for Poe, if that makes sense for her.

Silly Foghead just LURVES him some DC. ::)

Dennis Constatine? What a tool. Speaking of which, if it is in fact 2001, we could hear "Schism".
-
p-furs heartbreak beat? what, 1984?
-
PsyFurs are breaking my heart with their beat. 1987?
-

If memory serves, 1987.

If memory serves, 1987.
Wiki is (as usual) confusing, saying both '86 and '87, but we did '86 last Monday.
-
Roxy Music Icehouse. You gotta be "Crazy" to expect '70s or '60s on 10@10 these days.

Also, it reached the Top 30 in I believe May 1987. I tend to think in terms of year charted. But I've been wrong before.

Definitely 1987 then.
-
People on FB are guessing '86 (we did it last week) and '88 (ditto).
VHM the Alarm, aka U3.

aka "Katrina".
Really, Psych Furs and Icehouse I suppose are OK, but the Alarm are definitely on my never-need-to-hear-again list.
And yes, I'm cranky today.
-
VHM EchoB-men but this is also a frequent flyer.
-
no complaints yet. Certainly some big sweeping sounds in the first
three four songs. Lips Like Sugar is the one song everyone knows from Echo, oh well.
-
I gotta give "Lips Like Sugar" a big BOS.
Kind of takes the thrill off of hearing Dred Scott play it last night, though, which I was quite certain at the time was a rarity (outside of 10at10, of course).
-
Take back Joe Piscopo, and take back this song too, TP at his most annoying, despite the easy sing-along-ability of the lyrics.
-
Greed still hasn't gone out of style.
Take back your... '80s & '90s.

I feel like he's yelling at me!
-
Another flop of a set.
-
check out the FB page -- some serious denial going on there, re: the musical/demographic shift.
jinga-langa-ling, mah hunny mah baby.
-
Silly Foghead just LURVES him some DC. ::)
Silly Foghead is annoying and somewhat stalker-ish.
-
BOS PSB & Dusty. Oh yeah.

Gotta be "Jammin' Me".
-
Thank gawd: BOS Dusty/PSBs.

I prefer my brother's mondegreen'd lyrics "Take back your mess of red tape, take back your basketball."
I vacillate on Tom Petty: sometimes I think great song (Even The Losers) others I think shaddup! (Jammin' Me)
-

BOS - it really stood out in late '87.
-
gee what a surprise... INXS ::)
-
BOS #2 for the Princess Bride clip. For those who don't know & appreciate Peter Cook, look him up on YouTube.
My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!
-
gee what a surprise... INXS ::)
Couple of good songs, but overall never a huge fan.
-
Here's your requisite U2 number. Yawn.
Silly Foghead is really on one today.
-
it's all-Peter Falk-all-the-time! BOS2 Wings of Desire.

speaking of Peter Cook (and Dudley Moore), Bedazzled is great, but I haven't seen it available on DVD anywhere.
Ah, Wings of Desire. ponderous man, ponderous.
RIP Peter Falk

Silly Foghead is really on one today.
Lemme guess: "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For?"
-
gee what a surprise... INXS ::)
I've been a fan, but yeah, they also don't need to appear here again. Except for perhaps "Bitter Tears" or "Original Sin".
-
speaking of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore: Bedazzled is great, but I haven't seen it available on DVD anywhere.
Have you heard their old comedy albums? Brilliant stuff.
-
The Stranglers! BOS, fo shizzle.
-
BOS2 Stranglers -- there's always the sun. and always the possibility we'll get '70s tomorrow.
-
Woo Hoo!!!
Finally something I can really get excited about, Stranglers "Always The Sun". Dave played "Ghost Train" off of this album to the point of Katrina-ness, and I was always wishing he'd play this instead.
-

I have not, but I'm sure it is good. prob on the 'net somewheres...

I'll be looking on YT -- the albums are apparently out-of-print, can't find 'em on Amazon.

well, I enjoyed this set overall. (Tom Petty notwithstanding).
I appreciate the expansive sounds she chose to start, and despite the well-worn Echo and Pet Shop Boys and U2, sounded good to me. Maybe I'm just desperate.

Agreed. Modern rock always makes for a decent 80s set, even if they're tried and true crowd pleasers.

indeed... compared to what The Drive and the Sound do in late-'80s sets, this coulda been much worse.
ETA: TANC, The Sound *did* do '87 today. muuuuuch worse.

Ditto...even though KFOG has been spinning Lips Like Sugar a lot lately, it's still hard to be disappointed when hearing it.

-
BOS Pet Shop Boys...VHM's to P. Furs, E/Bunnymen, Icehouse (was wondering when we'd hear them again) INXS, & The Alarm. Not full of rarities but still a pretty epic set imo.
Have to WOS Tom Petty though. Even though his 1987 album is probably the only one that has songs by him like...that song isn't one of them. Runaway Trains or The Damage You've Done are better.
-
Missed hearing it, but that set definitely looks like what I remember hearing in 1987. Unfortunately the only song that has me saying "Wow, I haven't heard that in YEARS" is the Stranglers. The rest of the set: varying degrees of "meh."

I caught the beginning of the replay while driving down W San Carlos St. (in San Jose). If you are not familiar with this area, it's full of huge tacky neon signs: (here are a few courtesy of http://www.satanslaundromat.com/sl/archives/000464.html)

all of which were brightly lit. So I'm seeing these out my window, and then on the radio there's the Psychedelic Furs followed by Icehouse, The Alarm, Echo/Bunnymen...between the neon lights & epic sounds, I felt like I had really gone back in time 24 years. :)

TANC: I was introduced yesterday to the Lauder Brothers, those of "Satan Is Real" fame.
I'd also suggest those pictures are more reminiscent of 1967 than 1987, but I get your point. Thanks for sharing!
