no clues on FB, but it is AL's 2nd Anniversary as keeper of 10@10 -- she took over on 6/1/09. I wished her a Happy Anniv on FB and here's what she wrote:
"aw, thank you very much, Mike. I'm a lucky girl to be able to time travel w/the best here and keep Dave's baby rolling. I look forward to it every day. June has a few big anniversaries for me. June 5th is the day I used my one way ticket to... fly to SF. A few suitcases, a few bucks and a cat named Edith Piaf. Not exactly Mary Ann Singleton :) but close. The best move I've ever made! Here's to another fun day w/musical surprises."
(and her birthday is Friday)
EEEK, it's 1991. A mosquito, my libido.

I think it's really the drumming that made this band's sound so special. And that singer guy's lyrics, too, I guess, though I outgrew them long ago. The drumming still sounds cool today. Lots of dynamics that make what might be otherwise boring songs eventful.

Damn you Kurt for offing yourself and leaving us with the Foo Fighters! BOS1
BOS2 Divinyls. Dumb song, but catchy as hell!
-
all my '91 requests woulda been in the pop/soul vein (LLCoolJ, Boyz2Men, Londonbeat, Prince) so good luck hearing anything like that today.
BOS Richard Thompson -- we might not top this.

that is funny!

I always think of Pee Wee Hermann when I hear this. He (actor Paul Rubbin's Rubens) got arrested around this time, and the Roxie Theater played a midnight showing of Pee Wee's Big Adventure and they blasted this sone right before they showed the movie.

Big BOS for Richard Thompson! Have we ever heard him on 10at10? And if so, what song?

I think so but he's hardly a frequent flier. Most welcome this morning.

I cannot recall, but BOS from me, too. I saw him at Hardly Strictly a few years back, just him and his guitar, and he brought me to tears, literally.

Mark Cohn always says 1991 to me. At least it's not "Walking in Memphis". word/absurd/Thunderbird.

I've seen him several times solo at Villa Montalvo -- way up close. He's amazing.
-
the FB page isn't exactly a hotbed of BOS vots so far... ;)
WOS Clarence Thomas -- even more evil than we could've dreamed in 1991.
WOS2 RSF. yeesh & sheesh. Poor pussy... cat.
B.A.D. another frequent '91 flier.

BOS3 Big Audio Dynamite. Ushered at the Warfield back then and got to hear their soundcheck. Sweet memory.

Now here's one I couldn't get enough of in 1991 - Lenny!

He was indeed amazing at HSB. But oof, this version sounds so overproduced (well, it was the 90s, after all) compared to the acoustic version that was on KFOG Live From the Archives #2 (which I had a copy of *somewhere*, I think).

Hey, have you noticed KFOG's new "Now Playing" app actually can recognize 10@10 songs? Instead of being tied into their system (which is missing many of the songs Annalisa plays), I think it must use recognition software to match up and list songs. Kind of cool:

"Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy: some would call that a sneak attack Hit From Hell, others a guilty pleasure." -- Annalisa

or possibly there's an override option and AL types info as she plays?
This set had Clarence Thomas and Lenny Kravitz and it still needed more black people!

Nah, this is a new service that has been picking up all kinds of songs that the other playlists don't show -- I'm pretty sure they tap into the station's audio feed and run the commercial equivalent of Shazam or SoundHound and then link it up to iTunes/Amazon/YouTube. They also have an interesting Facebook integration where you can add songs to your Playlist which can get published to your Facebook Wall ("Darryl just created a playlist: KFOG New"...)
Kind of handy for tagging new/weird/songs that you hear.

This album (Rumour and Sigh) was RT's big shot at breaking through to AAA audiences. Produced by Mitchell Froom and engineered & mixed by Tchad Blake, it's got a few session heavyweights (Jim Keltner, Jerry Scheff) to supplement his crew of celtic rock regulars. Still, thanks to some really strong material (i.e. his stellar "1952 Vincent Black Lightning") it's one of his better post-Linda albums, but yeah, it's a little bit shiny on the production side.
