Someone has already requested Love Shack. Gawd. OTOH, someone else requested The Stone Roses "I Am The Resurrection". Epic.
Added bonus for me: My HS graduation year!
-
C'mon, let's get some votes going for "The Other Fine Young Cannibals", aka Roachford. You know you want to hear them!
-
Lawd, deliver us from "Love Shack", the Proclaimers, FYC, TFF, XTC, "Veronica", "Everything is Broken"... Fogheads are being predictably predictable.

Yeah, it's bad enough having "I'm Gonna Be..." be eligible for both 1988 and 1993, no need to throw a wrong year in there as well!

Thanks for suggesting Buffalo Stance, RG! You're no style rookie...

"Whut is he LOIKE? whut's he LOIKE, anyway?"
(the first time I heard it I thought it was Downtown Julie Brown from MTV!)

Whether we hear "Cuddly Toy" from AL or not, I'm def posting it as my FB Wednesday One Hit Wonder tomorrow.

XT see ya later. ::)
VHM the Big "O", now lets get to some bustouts.
NOOOO! another has-Been! and a MAJOR katrina.
-
XT see ya later. ::)
Yeah, you got it.
-
I bought a Berlin Wall souvenir thing at some thrift shop a few years back. So BOS to Thrift Town!
-
BOS Orbison, love that song
BOS Berlin Wall coming down. I never get tired of that news.
XTC king for a day -- never know why people like that song, quite uninteresting. However, I love the catchy Majors and Generals. How can you not be happy with a pop song about war with a video that includes Sr. Richard Branson dancing.

And yay, another BOS for Lightning Seeds.
-
a bustout would be a "blessing from above", AL.
Lightning Seeds gets a VHM, tho'.
-
HM to Uncle Buck, a John Hughes movie
and a BOS to Lightning Seeds
-
Most likely to be played in normal rotation on KFOG: Elvis, Veronica
-
Not even "Veronica" can save it...
-
yeesh, "Veronica" -- I'd've much preferred "My Brave Face", as EC/Macca collabs go.

I loves me some Thrift Town! VHM just for the shout-out. :)

Much appreciated. The song gets surprisingly little love.

indeed. I don't know why anyone would request such a thing, but Fogheads are funny that way.
-
Oh, and BOS1 to The Lightning Seeds.
OMFG. BOS2 to Monkey's Gone To Heaven!!! Major!
-
yeesh, "Veronica" -- I'd've much preferred "My Brave Face", as EC/Macca collabs go.
Not to mention we haven't heard "My Brave Face" a zillion times on KFOG already. I want to say it appeared once on 10@10.
-
funny how a song Dave never played has become an AL-trina. proxy of shray, "Monkey's Gone to Heaven".
-
UBER BOS Pixies... and GOD IS SEEEEVEEN!
Sure, there are many other great songs on that album (Gouge Away, Silver, Wave of Mutilation) but we'll take what we can get here. At least it wasn't "Here Comes your Man", one of the biggest overplayed snoozes by those who like their Pixies "lite".

She's played this before? For realz?

it did -- just about a year ago.
Yikes, Chris "I can sound just like Mark Knopfler when i really try to" Rea. Road to hell indeed.

at least twice iirc.
-
one of my pet peeves is when people use a chimp (in advertising, in movies, etc) and call it a "monkey."
This has nothing to do with the Pixies... they know what a monkey is, for reals.
-
Hah, I thought this was Mark Knopfler
-
Hah, I thought this was Mark Knofler
I thought it was Robbie Robertson.
-
Yeah, I'm gonna BOS Bonnie -- at least it's not "Nick Of Time"
-

wow, I never thought I'd see the day when a Bonnie Raitt song was a welcome turn of events in a 10 at 10 set!
I'll BOnnieS this, too

"haven't you ever wanted a MUN-keh?"

Robbie Robertson doing a dime store impression of Leonard Cohen.

Not a bad song, but it's not especially noticeable to me. No surprises so far in this set. Surprisingly dull.
-
I'm in the minority, but i HATED Dead Poets Society. *shudder*

Never saw it!
BOS to The Replacements.
-
You be me, and I'll be the 6th or 7th Katrina in this set. Yeah, I'm in full crankypants mode now, bitches. "bored right outta mah skull" sums it up, Mr 'Mats.
-
Not being either a huge Pixies or Replacements fan (guess I came late to the parties), this is the most known (and probably the most accessible) 'Mats song out to me. I imagine hardcore 'Mats fans think of this song like Pixies fans think of Here Comes Your Man, overplayed and not representative.
But I likes it!
-
I'll BOS The Dead Milkmen...did this come out in '89???
-
OMFG!! "Punk Rock Girl" -- finally a BOS(2) I can *really* get behind! Like totally awesome!!
-
Yay, Punk Rawk Girl -- fun stuff... this kind of rare-ish song is why I listen to 10@10, not EC Veronica.
-

You're not alone - I remember liking it about as much as I like this set. :)

where are they from? singer's accent sounds mid-Atlantic, like Baltimore.
ETA: heh, looked it up: They're from Philly!

Rochester had a club called the Carpe Diem. Some locals pronounced it "car-PAY-dium" ... teehee!
mostly crap-ish set.
-

Yes! Any numbers trending up is good news in this economy. Every little bit helps! ;)
