RGMike, you can still be the first to request "Sister Christian"!

But you're too late to provide the first "Drive" request.

Think we'll hear any Prince? I'd actually love "Darling Nikki", maybe the only song from that LP that's never been played on 10@10.

Won't that require a little bleepage to be acceptable for radio?

Well, Tipper Gore thought so. But I do remember it being played by some alt-rock stations back in the day, uncensored. What's a little masturbation between friends?

Friends - how many of us have them?  My WTH Whodini request for '84.  I won't be able to listen this morning anyway since I'm working at the school. I'm looking forward to reading the snark comments.  My favorite year in music too.  Waaaah.   :'(

BOS When Doves Cry.  I didn't go see Prince last night, but my SO did.  Apparently he started off his set with Delirious, sort of a Muppet song, IMHO.

Yeah, it got played back then, but that was long "wardrobe malfunctions" and slipped expletives spurred the FCC to levy huge fines.

Today's set sticking pretty close to the charts again. Methinks the new PD is sticking his nose into our business.

Mmm hmm.  I'm digging most of the songs here well enough, but the sum of the parts is not making a whole, in this case.  I know she's done a few mainstream-ish sets before (a previous 1984 set comes to mind, though that was a B-day set) but todays does set up a red flag, so far.

Meaning Fogheads are not posting because (presumably) they're not as excited about the song selections.

But those who are posting are happy as clams:

"Can I just say, you are smokin' today, Annalisa! The hits keep coming! Wouldn't it be good if this went on all day??"

I have to give most unnecessary of set to U2 due to being a Channel 92.3 overplay, and one that sounds mighty out of place over there, at that.

...and with this generic sounding REM song, the thin line has officially been crossed...

Not really. Doctor Doctor is the second-most-played TT song, but The Gap far outdistances it, 10 plays to 5 in the Morey era.

Much as I love that one too, my favorite remains their title theme for the movie "Nothing in Common." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLIaitC5FLI)  I still don't know why it flopped on the charts.

Yeah, we're spoiled -- AL has been so fabulous for nearly 2 years (without management interference) that anything less-than-stellar seems... wrong.  This set wasn't as bad as the '81 set last week but it was very Moreyesque.
