I think we're gonna be sick of that Michael Franti thing very soon...

So, should I request Van Halen's "Finish What Ya Started" or Dream Academy's "A Love Parade", neither of which has a chance of being played?

Your Orange Crush request (or afterthought) was actually pretty genius, if you ask me.

I just requested Champagne (shower) Supernova.  The "where were you while we were getting high" lyric is perfect for our Timmeh!

I tossed in a request for The Baseball Project's "Panda and the Freak."  AL listened to it because she commented on it, but who knows if it'll actually get played?

I wound up requesting "Walking Away" in honor of Game 2. RGMike, you often mention how lame the FB requests are in general - this time I'm in nearly full agreement (I did like the Oasis request, however  :) ).

3|2 odds that the TOTHK is "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions."  The fun stuff'll come later, as usual.

we got that as a Request-O-Rama prize in the 6:00 hour, so here's hoping AL restrains herself.

So I have to say, if you're going to imbide in alcohol and/or 420 on the streets today, be sure to share some with the rest of us!

or some pie-and-meat.  Whatever happened to that Thomas Dolby song from 2002 -- "Blinded Me With Giants", or something. Couldn't find it on the Tubes of You. This Franti song is on the level of Chicago Bears Super Bowl Shuffle, methinks.

Whose version of "I Thank You" is this? it ain't the Sam & Dave orig. Al dredges up the oddest re-recordings.

Yeah, I noticed that too.  It's certainly one of them, maybe both, but a much later recording.  Maybe Blues Brothers 2000 soundtrack?

Well, this Journey parody was a given, I suppose. It's difficult to write one of these things that's clever and is actually a good song. But did we have to follow with actual Journey? sheesh.

Boo for Lights, I heard this on the morning show already today.

But I was struck by the words this morning.  I'd always imagined he was talking about sunset on the bay, but he actually says when the lights go down, and the sun shines on the bay.  Is it about the morning?  That seems so wrong.

yeah, it's about staying up all night long with Steve Perry high on the Coke he bought in Marin.  You've driven up to the headlands in a Trans-Am and you're about to say "dude, I'm sorry she dumped you, but I need to get back home .."  but then you see the sun coming up and you say "Oh hey, check out the sun coming up! Let's get breakfast."

Train must not be played.  Ever.  Again.

However, AC/DC should be played as frequently as possible.

I don't usually mind them but this one's awful -- more recent stuff, I'm guessing, judging by his voice.

TANC: I just got a 2-disc UK "Northern Soul" comp that isn't very "Northern" at all  (Ike & Tina, Sam & Dave, Dr John, Little Richard, Rufus Thomas, the Staples -- WTF?) and it includes a not-the-original "I Thank You" by S&D that may be the one we heard earlier. Or not.

That set looks a bit better on paper than it played, especially if you didn't know 2 of the songs showed up on the Morning Show yesterday.  I kept imagining a Dave Morey version, which would've undoubtedly closed with Carmen MacRae, "I'm Always Drunk in San Francisco"

FB Fogheads have a firm grasp of the obvious. And for folks who (presumably) are regular 10@10 listeners, they have some serious short-term memory loss  ;)

And the combo of Tinka's Renteria pun and Mike's Celebrate pun had me chanting "Renteria! Celebrate! Renteria! Celebrate!" in my head.
