Yes, someone just requested "Jessie's Girl" and "Bette Davis Eyes" ::)
Me, I'm asking for
The Clash, "Hitsville UK"
Grace Jones, "Pull Up to the Bumper"
Yoko, "Walking on Thin Ice"
Joey Scarbury "Greatest American Hero (Believe it or Not)"
-
WOS. Santana's winning with this TOTHK, but we're al losing as a result.

Weak start with lame Santana "Winning".
-
and we start with one of the biggest (and most annoying) 1981 'trinas of the Morey era: "Winning".

It's unanimous! LOL!
-
BOS1 Kinks, here's to "Better Days" and better songs.

Yes, mucho better, and I don't know this song.
-
The Kinks song is NTM. The opening reminded me of a Supergrass song from the '90s called "We're Alright."
-

It's def been played on 10@10 before (and It's "Better Things", not "Better Days" -- my bad)

I just heard that Arthur clip earlier this week! BOS to "While You See a Chance," a great motto for the age of perpetual reinvention.
-
VHM Mr. Microphone.
We're heading in a New Wave direction, I can feel it. Lene Lovich coming? Joe Dolce?
-
OK, that "hey good lookin'" Mr Microphone clip needs to be retired.
VHM to a Cars LP cut.

Ha! I was thisclose to requesting "Shaddap You Face"!
-

Very obscure. I'll give it a BOSFRA, and for the crunchy guitar sound.
-
VHM Foreigner and ENUF with Mr Micro-phony. Sheesh.
-
BOS Cars
HM Kinks
ooh, gotta give Foreigner an HM for JBH
-
I'll give cars a VHM for now, though she does seem to find every excuse to sneak the Cars into every set she possibly can.
Otherwise, not impressed so far.
-
So much for New Wave. "Superfreak" is fun but obvious.
-
sheesh: "Super Freak" for the billionth time. Seriously, ah loves me some Slick Rick, but come on. Fogheads are so predictable, yow.
and speaking of predictable: "Rapture". I am losing hope here.
-

Agreed. For some reason it got me online to BOS it, though. Needed some chair dancing this morning.
Gone fishing next week, so I've got a lot of pre-vacation energy flowing.
Woohoo!
-
it's a Western New York Twin Spin! Lou Gramm (Rock-chester) and Rick James (Buffalo)
Go Yankees!
-
BOS2 rare U2: "Tomorrow" -- an ATBB, methinks.
-
HM 4 NTM U2.
-
HM to NTM early U2.
-

Woohoo!
Have a great time!
-
HM2 to U2. I don't think I've heard anything pre-War from them.
-
ho hum, I'm tired of Debbie's rap.
very nice to hear this U2!
-
OMFG!! uber-BOS3 "Hitsville UK" -- finally!!
-
this is NTM, but I recognize the Clash singing in there, and know it's RGM's request. Nice one.
The pleasant chorus reminds me of Polyphonic Spree.
-
F--k! I really wanted to hear Vangelis and not AC/DC.
-
That was the Clash?!??! Okay, add that one to my short-but-growing list of good Clash songs. Worth a BOS.
AC/DC on the other hand... ::) Well, I guess it is pretty common for AL to end with something like this.

That's Ellen Foley of "Paradise By the Dashboard Light" and Night Court fame -- she was Jones's (or was it Strummer's?) gf at the time.

ETA: It was Jones -- and "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" was about her.

Sumpin' fer everyone, that's AL's motto. AC/DC is a not-very-guilty displeasure for me.
-
WOS2 "Back in Black." Brian Johnson is unlistenable to my ears.
-
heh, Back In Black for the Giants (orange and black). I get it.
Reminds me years ago -- in 1995 to be exact -- when the Giants ran a program to get kids involved with the team. and they called it the "Orange And Black Kids' Club."
At a game one night in June (against the Mets, featuring Jeff Kent, who took an early lead an held it until the G men pulled it out w a Bonds RBI double!) they put it on the scoreboard with line breaks that seemed a little funny. My brother pointed it out as not seeming so "correct." It said something like this:
Join the Giants'
Orange and
Black Kids
Club!
... so there's a special club for "Black Kids?" anyway, I still remember that.
-
F--k! I really wanted to hear Vangelis and not AC/DC.
I liked today's theme.
That being said, Hitsville U.K. was an excellent request. Hopefully, our Giants will be all hitsville tomorrow.

Holy crap -- I didn't even realize there was a Giants thread going thru the set until you mentioned it
"Winning"... "Better Things" ... "Tomorrow" ... "Super Freak" ... "Back in (Orange &) Black". DUH! I guess I picked a good day to ask for "HITS-ville"!

Guess you didn't listen to AL's back-announce? Yeah, I can understand that. :)
