And yet another 10:00 meeting that will make me miss the set. But I reminded AL about the ex-Runaways twin-spin of Lita Ford and Joan Jett. Fingers crossed.

Someone requested She's Like The Wind. I die!

or "She Breaks Wind" as I like to call it ;)
not to mention TTD's "Wishing Well" -- maybe the most-overplayed '88 hit of the Morey era.
-
"Wishing Well" would do well in an all-Katrina set, heaven forbid.
I've mentioned it before, but I wouldn't mind hearing TTD's "Dance Little Sister".
-
Wow, it's awfully quiet in here.
So far:
S. O'Connor
G. Harrison
R. Newman (yay for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.)
P. Smith (ooh, a HSB two-fer!)

I went Sunday, but missed both of these. I ventured out from the Rooster stage and tried to make it to Elvis Costello's set and realized it was hopeless and a waste of time. Once you have a place yo'd best stay put for the most part, unless you want to spend a good 45 minutes just moving to a new stage.
BOS Patti Smith

Here's Swellie's request. I haven't heard this Information Society song since 1988.

Sorry to hear that. :( I agree, Sunday it was a madhouse there. I saw both of 'em as I got to Randy Newman about 15-20 min before his set & was able to get a fairly close position. Patti Smith I got there after Elvis Costello and of course it was packed, so I didn't bother trying to go into the "mosh pit" - I just stood right outside the fence which actually was a pretty good view from the side.

BOS Information Society! Love it!!! In the '90s Hits 106 used to play this all the time. :o
-
BOS for Talking Heads. They really hit the jackpot with Naked.

yeah, this song is great. Another BOS.

I'm a little surprised that "What's On Your Mind" is a bustout. It's not exactly "One Good Woman" territory.
-
Here's Mike's Joan Jett half!

Got to Rooster Stage just before Indigo Grrrls played. I was with a friend who needed to meet her sister and when the Girls came on I was sort of stuck and didn't feel like walking over the same people I walked over to get there, so I sat through their set. I'm not a fan, but I didn't feel like moving at that point. Dave Alvin was fun, as usual, although the mix was bad. was I heard some of Elvis from the back (woods) side. It was a good vantage point: you could see the players from the back and hear well b/c they pumped hsi sound to the nearby Towers of Gold stage. After that I went back to Rooster stage and ended up getting my hands on Friends and Family pass, so I was was able to enjoy Roseanne Cash, Nick Lowe and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings inside the super duper special penned in area. The big benefit of that is the bathroom access. (Sharon Jones is pretty great, a female James Brown.) I went over to Emmylou Harris right when she ended her set and got back into the Cast an Crew tent. I saw Elvis and Emmylou waiting in the chow line. Nick Lowe, Peter Rowan and Gillian Welch were in there, too. pretty neat.

Replacement's Only A Memory guitar riff is reminiscent of George Harrison's I Want to Tell You

Here's Mike's Joan Jett half!
so, she didn't do the twin-spin?
Well, Info Society were on my '88 wish-list too even tho' I didn't ask for "WOYM?" this time.

Caught the replay and this is one of the better '88 sets I can recall -- a really good year if you think outside the box a bit. Love the segues: election clips --> "People Have the Power"; Church lady --> "Devil Inside"
