yup, 2nd time in just under a month. One bright Foghead requested "Ode to Billie Joe"...
Me, I suggested Cher "You Better Sit Down Kids" and Frank & Nancy's "Somethin' Stupid".

I offered Marmalade "I See The Rain" -- Small Faces "All Or Nothing" -- Kinks "Death of A Clown" -- Bee Gee's "Every Christian Lion-Hearted Man Will Show You" (I think Dave Morey used to platy this one.. )
-
I've requested These Days by Nico. Who doesn't love a tragic German chanteuse?

I *adore* her version of that -- used nicely on the Royal Tenenbaums sndtk (my favorite movie of the last 10 years). Amazing to think it's from '67 -- Jackson Browne was 19 then!
BTW another Foghead also requested "To Sir With Love"... which we also heard on June 3rd.

"Darlin'" was '68, no?
It charted in 1/68 (they recorded it 10/27/67), and was on their "Wild Honey" LP 12/67, so its on the cusp.
-
"Darlin'" was '68, no?
technically, released as a single in Dec '67. But I'd call it a '68 hit.
That FB Foghead finally gets his "All You Need is Love"! there's nothin' you can request that can't be requested.
and nothin' you can twin-spin that can't be twin-spun: one of my fave Beatle B-sides, "Baby"!

If you're going to San Francisco - you'll see trust fund panhandlers with cooties in their hair...

For those in SF, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair

Whoa. I recognized David Hamilton's gauzy near-kid-porn a mile away. I have to admit I've spent some time in the photography section with his collections (in my youth).

wow, it's still a 10-way tie in my mind, but special mention to CJ & the Fish -- an FM staple back in the day, now forgotten. And it's a shame and a pity...

It's too early for this song, except for maybe Gaz in NYC (and too late for Princessofcairo.. in Europe?)

on second listen, the Animals' Monterey is pretty messy. During the sorta-awkward name-dropping section, Eric "Burton" Burdon mentions Ravi "Shank-nar." I like the music, though...

Forever Eric Burton.

this particular band of Animals was quite talented. I find this album to be very entertaining, if of course just a tad dated!
