Suite! er, sweet!
This'll work! BOS1 to CSN and S:JBE. Big sledgehammer for me on this one, although the event it's related to didn't occur for a couple more years.
-
I'm lurking, mobile without sound. Trying to find mobile stream
-
BOS for rarish Tull, "Reasons for Waiting". Never heard before on 10at10, that's fer sure.

VHM Janis

BOS for rarish Tull, "Reasons for Waiting". Never heard before on 10at10, that's fer sure.
Most def. As rare as anything else that AL has played in her brief tenure, I'd say.
BOS3 to Janis, Try.
What. A. Voice.
-
HM Mayall -- proxy of GazWOS, iirc.

Je. A. Lous. I can't hear

I've always enjoyed this, though the chicka-chicka part is pretty silly and dated.
-
BOS for The Judge. I love these old car ads.
-
Scooby-Doo steals Astro Jetson's act yet again.
BOS2 Beatles (yay) and the underrated "Hey Bulldog" from (TANC) Yellow Submarine.
-
Annalisa sure seems to have a good collection of old Pontiac ads--that's at least the third one I can recall.
OMFG!! Uber-BOS to Hey Bulldog!
D'ya know anymore?
-
BOS for The Judge. I love these old car ads.
so does AL, clearly --- she must spend hours looking for 'em!

Submarine?
I'll echo the BOS. I love this song, though I was always puzzled by its inclusion on the soundtrack since the bulldog scene was cut from the original version of the movie. It's restored on the DVD release, which is great to watch and listen to.
-
BOS3 Taj Mahal.
-
The BOSes just keep on coming. Another one for Taj Mahal, Take A Giant Step. This is another one I don't remember hearing Dave ever play in the last decade or so.
-
Nothing like a 10:00 fire drill when there's a sixties set!
BOS Tull, which I heard in my car before we coud get back in the building.
-
jeezus! I missed almost everything. BOS Dylan and Johnny
-
what came before Janis and Taj Mahal?
-
uber-BOS4 Bobby Z and Johnny C.
-
jeezus! I missed almost everything. BOS Dylan and Johnny
Amen. Getting chills from this one. This may actually supercede Hey Bulldog for my vote.
-
what came before Janis and Taj Mahal?
Suite: Judy Crosby's Girlfriend (or was she doing Stills? I forget)
-
HM Mayall -- proxy of GazWOS, iirc.
which Mayall? I was on phone
-
what came before Janis and Taj Mahal?
I think the Beatles preceded Taj, and was the Tull song before Janis? Or was it Room to Move?

AL is giving me hope that someday that will change, and I'll finally hear The Supernatural on KFOG

Wow, "Make Your Own Kind of Music" has a very Partridge Family sorta sound to it, although this was at least a year or two before the Partridges debuted. Was Wes Farrell connected to her in any way?
-
Pressure Drop!
-
VHM Butch & Sundance
ooooooohhhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!
-
Probably my favorite scene from a film full of favorite scenes. VVHM Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid.
And one last BOS for Pressure Drop. Pretty effin great set. Front to back.
-

It's a Mann & Weill composition (they also wrote her "It's Getting Better"), and produced by Steve Barri. So def in that pop/bubblegum wheelhouse.
-
That might just be too cute, Butch & Sundance jumping off the cliff into "Pressure Drop".
-
Sly and the Family Stone, Stand
-
BOS6 Sly, standin' tall at Stonewall!
-
pretty cool that Scoop called in!

Had to do something to escape the heat this eve, so I caught the Harry Potter film over in Sherwood. Got out at 9:20 and beat it home in time to catch this set again. Happy to say I made it.
Btw, it was 107 here this afternoon. I thought I was living back in Sacramento for a while. Oh well, it'll help me acclimate for our trip to Austin next week. Whoever thought a cheese convention in Texas in August was a good idea will probably be cashiered from the organization after next week.
And now at quarter past 10, it's cooled all the way down to 89. I think I'm sleeping in the basement tonight.
-
2. Jethro Tull - Reasons for Waiting
3. Janis Joplin - Try
5. Beatles - Hey Bull Dog
6. Taj Mahal - Take a Giant Step
7. Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash - Girl From the North Country
8. Mama Cass Elliot - Make Your Own Kind of Music
9. Toots & the Maytalls - Pressure Drop
This is an unusually high quotient of specialness. I'm pretty impressed. The Taj Mahal cut alone is major, but the Dylan/Cash thing blew my mind, took me right back to Isla Vista the night the album came out.

High praise indeed. And 110% true. It says a lot about the quality of a set when the weakest song of the bunch is by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers--and I mean that as no disrespect to them; I like Room to Move a lot. Just that everything else was very VERY good.
