Un set de le rock Francais? Well, maybe we'll get "Ma belle Amie"...
-
Un set de le rock Francais?
OK, there's that ELO song that's in French, there's Ca Plane Pour Moi, there's the Beatles' Michelle, and there's a Police song in French. What are the other six?
Never mind, just heard a promo--we're goin' to 1970 today!
(BUT...when the fuck are we ever going to go to 72 or 73? Seems like those years didn't get much love during the last few years of Dave's tenure too. Although in the last two months of classics prior to the Annalisa Era, we heard no fewer than FOUR '73 sets. You could look it up...)

Have you continued to update your list of years in the "Annalisa Thread" on the Core section? looks like you've fallen behind.

I've often wondered if it was a true live version, or simulated. I say this embarrassingly without checking wikipedia first!

some will be out at rallies... some will be writing... some will be a godness on a mountaintop...
Ironically, some thought the lyric was "I'm your penis"!
-
CCR going up around the bend, or whatever the title is!
-
BOS CCR, still one of my very favorites of theirs.

Only bustout so far was the CCR tune, and for some reason it didn't feel like one.
BOS2 The Seeker.
-
I had a Sikh roommate and, yes, I used to sing "They call me the Sikh" to her.
-
I can understand looking under tables and chairs to find Timothy Leary, and Dylan slept under a table at my professor's girlriend's apartment on his way to NY to see Woody Guthrie (or so the story goes), but I don't think you would find the Beatles there.

-
Lonely Days, Lonely Nights!
Bee Gees (is that the title? I get so confused!)
Yup. BOS2.
-
I woke up in time to tune in to "Lonely Days." A friend is sleeping on the couch to the strains of "Good morning, Mr. Sunshine ..." nice. BOS.

Lonely Days, Lonely Nights!
Bee Gees (is that the title? I get so confused!)
It's just Lonely Days, but you got the right idea. Dave played this a few times, but always in '71.
-
here's one for the young'uns! Sounds kinda Ozzyish!

-
DUUUUUUUUDE! Sabbath! BOS3!

Yep. BOS for BS' Paranoid.
-
SABBATH ! ! ! ! !
-
here's one for the young'uns! Sounds kinda Ozzyish!
Right you are, sir! This would be an artist bustout were it not for one appearance by Iron Man in that comic book set Dave did a year ago.
-
Make a joke and I will sigh
And you will laugh and I will cry
heavy....
BOS!

little green bag
George Baker?
that's the Selection!

George Baker?
So what's in his little green bag, anyway? Must be pretty important since he's going back onto the tracks to get it.
-
little green bag
George Baker?
Right again!
Turn to the left, Turn to the right!
I think I'll stay on the left, thank you.

actually, AL, Paul Simon was getting the Gravy Train off his face...
-
We're gettin' a bustout as our Bonus track: Harrison Does Dylan, If Not For You.
-
Bonus Track Question "What group in today's 10 at 10 featured three lead singers, Danny, Chuck and Cory?"
The first caller said "The Bee Gees." :-\
Then "Wes The Buzzcocks Fan" got through and answered correctly (Noche De Tres Perros) and chose George Harrison's If Not For You! :)
I think this could be one of those times when the bonus track is actually better than the other ten songs...

I would have to agree. Annalisa used to do that regularly, back when DM was in the driver's seat.
Although my pick for BOS in the set also has the most appearances in the DB. It's not Little Green Bag or The Seeker--any guesses?

AL just announced that next Monday is Carlos Santana's BD, and we'll get a Carlos set. She's looking for email suggestions, and I'll definitely be suggesting "Touchdown Raiders!"
But I wasn't paying attention well enough to get the email addy... :-\

Nope, the CCR was a bustout. And the 3DN has 5 plays--this one has more.

It will be a lonely day in hell before I guess. Or lonely night.
Where would I be without my bos.

Too bad, 'cause you'd have been right. :)
I would not have thought so, but Lonely Days appears in the DB eight times, including once in a theme set (the BeeGees Listen Without Prejudice set that was discussed a couple of weeks ago after MJ's death) and once as a classic. And all of its date-based appearances were in '71, not '70. But it does qualify in '70--barely: it first charted Dec 26, 1970.

AL just announced that next Monday is Carlos Santana's BD, and we'll get a Carlos set. She's looking for email suggestions, and I'll definitely be suggesting "Touchdown Raiders!"
But I wasn't paying attention well enough to get the email addy... :-\
er, that would be annalisa@kfog.com ;)
BTW, Monday is also the 40th anniv of the moon landing, and frankly, I'd much rather have a creative moon-themed set than a Santana rehash, especially a Foghead-generated one.

Love Devotion and Surrender would be my vote, but I'll be out of town and don't mind missing this one anyway.

Agreed, the moon set would likely be far more interesting, but Santana and the draw of audience voting may bring more listeners. And it's all about user engagement these days, ain't it? I'll just be happy if AL can pull out something more obscure than Samba Pa Ti and stays away from the Alex Ligertwood years altogether. Yes, Tink's Love Devotion and Surrender would be a good start.

How about throwing a curve, and playing Supernatural (Peter Green) and Fleetwood Mac's "Black Magic Woman?" to give some context?
Yeah, never gonna happen.

BOS for "Mama Told Me Not To Come", which was #1 on the very first American Top 40.
