KPOO's DJ Marilynn will be interviewing Julie "Catwoman" Newmar at 11:30, tho' it's not clear exactly why. She's 75!
Meanwhile, Marilynn is playing cat-themed dirty bues songs ("Play With My Pussy" etc)

this isn't internet radio-related, but I just wanted to note that 107.7 The Bone played Humble Pie's 30 Days In The Hole this morning..!
No, I didn't stick around to hear Lamont and Toe-Nail-y stuff mayonnaise down Sully's pants, but tomorrow is Ta-Ta-Tuesday... ;)

Seems pretty '70s-centric for a station that wants a younger demo, no? So maybe they're looking to become the default station for us "older" folks when those predicted ch-ch-changes happen at KFOG?

Judge plays Laura Lee's fab "Rip Off" -- she makes Millie Jackson seem demure.
"Ahm tired of being neglected!
Ahm gonna slap him in the face with the unexpected!"
-
for some reason Judge is playing Chakachas. Ay, que FIEVRE!

and he stays in an early '70s groove with Sly, "Runnin' Away". lookatchoofoolinyou!
and now it's "Troglodyte" -- well, it's better than the sequel at least, but I never thought Jimmy Castor's humor was exactly highbrow.
-
ooo! Cherelle's orig version of "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" -- didn't we get the Robert Palmer cover from someone last week?
-
OMFG! "Breakin'... There's No Stoppin' Us" by the immortal Ollie & Jerry.
-
Holy crap! Kraftwerk, "Tour De France"! Judge has been all over the map today but it's been a great ride.
-
wiki-wiki-wiki-wiki! Newcleus is here to "Jam On It" -- Smurf voices and all.

Because everyone should get to hear that this week:

Over on 'LNG, it's the Year of the... Cat Mother and the All-Night Newsboys!
-
Bob Shannon on WLNG is playing "songs Springsteen should cover in concert" -- and OMG, it's Mink DeVille's "Spanish Stroll"! A fine choice.

Another interesting (if odd) Retro-chart on CG, from Aug 1976 -- dominated by the Beatles re-issues that Capitol UK were churning out:
01. - Brotherhood Of Man - Save Your Kisses For Me
02. ABBA - Fernando

06. - 10cc - I'm Mandy Fly Me

32. Eagles - Take It To The Limit
33. Randy Edelman - Concrete And Clay

35. The Trammps - That's Where The Happy People Go
Graham Gouldman (at #6 with 10cc) is the in-studio guest; we get The Sutherland Bros' "Arms of Mary" as a bubbling-under extra.
-
Gallagher & Lyle's "I Wanna Stay With You" would not be out-of-place on Silk Degrees.
-
Hot Chocolate's soundalike follow-up to "You Sexy Thing", "Don't Stop It Now", is disposable fun -- those disco strings get me every time.
-
Holy crap! an ancient Marianne Faithfull '60s semi-hit, "Come and Stay With Me". Just loverly.
-
another NTM lost girl-group record heard on WLNG: the Butterflys, "Good Night Baby", yet another gem from Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich (Ellie re-recorded it on her early-'70s solo LP).

JJ plays the Whispers' fine disco-y 1977 take on Bread's "Make it With You".
Followed by the Curtis-less Impressions with "Same Thing it Took (to Get Yo' Baby Hooked)". Neither of these 2 got anywhere near the Pop Top 40, shamefully.
But -- OMG! -- it's Lamont Dozier's fab slice of political soul, "Fish Ain't Bitin'". "Tricky Dick! Stop yo' shit!"
-
And now JJ allows me to luxuriate in Brenda & the Tabulations for the 2nd time tonite.
-
JJ sends me off to bed with the Rance Allen Group, "Ain't No Need of Crying", the best EWF-in-ballad-mode simulation ever. (RAG was a gospel outfit; this was their only secular crossover.)
