Seems like everyone's playing '79 lately. The fact we were just here a week and a half ago probably accentuates that.

A few good things coming up in this one though, so unless LA is really enticing, I'm going to stay here.

Btw, the board is being kinda slow again.

Cindy Bullens is still around; had a great song on RadioParadise in the last few years: "It Was a Long Way Down (But I Liked Falling)".  Sad story that her (teenage, I think) daughter died.  Terrible to think about.

She sure sounds like Patty Smythe.

I just heard Subterranean Homesick Blues, which was great.  I'm switching back and forth as I see fit, but not commenting there.

BOS to one of Dave's fave disco songs: "Coo-BAH!"  Guess he spent a lot of time in Latino clubs (no surprise there).

"Dancing Barefoot" vs "For Your Love" = Toughest Decision of Set.  I'm playing them both loudly.

One thing you can say for KFOG: no commercials (real ones) in the middle of the show.

I love the intro to "I Want You To Want Me" where he over-enunciates the song title for the audience of rabid Japanese teenage girls.

I've probably said this here before, but for years I mondegreened "we can't rewind, we've gone too far" as "the country whined, 'We've gone too far.'"

Don't know much about her, but I just found out that Robert Fripp was a founding member of the Flying Lizards--I did not know that!

Btw, I think that accent is supposed to represent the cultured British upper class.

The singer was Patti Palladin, she did the Chrissie Hynde thing, moving to London & fronting a band full of British guys.

Attn Gaz:  There is no text content on the AMG pages for the group, the album, or the singer.  Maybe you can get another byline?
ETA: there is a small blurb about her first group, called Snatch.

That's a good idea.  If I'm going to continue my involvement with AMG, that's precisely what I need to do: find those holes in their DB and offer to fill them.  Thanks.

I find them all the time, although most are far more obscure than this one.  I'll keep you posted.

that was fun!  Some good hooks here and there, but also a tad anemic... several moments where you wish the production popped more -- and that her voice was more heftier.

But I'll give it a BOSFRA.
