And this is the better of the two (no Bryan Adams in this one). Orig airdate Nov. 8, 2006.

This is definitely the better of the two, circa 7/9/06.  The other one looks like this:

1.) Prince - Raspberry Beret
2.) Stevie Ray Vaughan - Say What
3.) Don Henley - Sunset Grill
4.) Marrillion - Lavender
5.) Bryan Ferry - Don't Stop the Dance
6.) Big Audio Dynamite - e=mC2
7.) Cock Robin - When Your Heart is Weak
8.) Firm - Radioactive
9.) Huey Lewis & The News - Power of Love
10.) Bryan Adams - Run to You

yeah, unless this was an On This Date set, that song peaked in 1984 at #9.

on second glance, the Bryan Ferry song (which shows up in both of these sets) didn't chart, so an OTD set is ruled out.

See, since you mention sledgehammers, I woulda BOS'd this as it reminds me of when times were good with my first serious girlfriend, who had this LP and played it often in our little studio apartment upstairs from the Domino's ablock off campus.

We had a LOT of sex.  Not that much pizza though.

Kelly (who was totally hot) once had to go to the clinic because of a recurring infection, and the nurse asked her how often she had sex.  She said "4 or 5 times," and the nurse said "Okay", and scribbled in her notes, and Kelly said, "...a day," and the nurse jumped back a bit, narrowed her eyes and told Kelly, "Well that might be a little much."

So you can understand my continuing fondness for Julian Lennon. ;) ;D ;) ;D

I think you just ruined my entire childhood with a single sentence. I never even considered it a song to John...it's *so* not fun anymore. I be wanting to cry...

What are you going to do next, Reg, tell me "Valotte" is a love song to the Margaret Thatcher?

The video, at least, is cashing in on the John.  But it's still possible that Julian wrote it about a girl, and this was just some clever video producer's idea of how to really sell the thing.

"Look Julian, I know it's about a girl.  But we want to sell records here!"

I absolutely agree -- somebody heard the lyrics and said -- "they're THIS... but we can make people think they might be THAT". From a marketing standpoint, genius. From an "OMG, they've got some guy in a bad wig pretending to be his dead father" standpoint... creepy.
