They're Little Steven's newest affiliate (they air his show on Monday nites). And Absolut Vodka is suing them over the name!

breakitup breakitup breakitup! Judge plays Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks" -- rap when it was actually amusing and fun.
"Ma Bell sent you a whopping bill
with 18 phone calls to Brazil!"
I still have this 45 with part 1 on the A-side and part 2 on the flip.
-
Lawd! a Prince twin-spin: "Uptown" followed by "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?"
-
Judge unearths an oddity: Johnny "Guitar" Watson, "We Got a Love Jones" -- same melody as the Emotions' "Don't Ask My Neighbors" but completely diff lyric.
-
"Get up! Get it on!" Main Ingredient say "Happiness is Just 'Round the Bend" -- Cuba Gooding Sr., comporting himself better than his son did on the Oscars last nite.
-
Judge lets me hear "Soul Makossa" for the 3rd time this month. And now he's playing a version of "Give Me Your Love" by The Sisters Love (who?) -- I know the Curtis Mayfield orig, and the Barbara Mason cover that Curtis produced, but this is NTM.
-
OMG! Judge plays the orig version of "Can't Hide Love" by Creative Source -- they did it several years before EW&F. Gaz would like this one, methinks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJpv-AwZJAM
Followed by the Ohio Players' "Funky Worm" -- tell it, granny!
-
JJ has us sinking into "Quicksand" wif Marfa.
-
JJ plays a soul version of "Walk Right In" by the Moments! NTM; I grew up with the very white Rooftop Singers version.
-
Lawd! the Shades of Blue, "Oh How Happy" makes me oh so happy. And the Iceman his own damn self, Mr Butler -- he NEVAH gonna give you up!
-
Holy crap! Nina Simone's version of "Revolution" is new to me and mind-blowing!
-
clap yo' hands and prepare to pat! Shirley Ellis does her ode to the clap, er, clapping.
-
'LNG celebrates Mardi Gras with PJ Proby's "Niki Hoeky". Pappy's in the pokey! Get hip to the cogitation!
-
a fab CG retro-chart from 1966: a cover of "Just Like a Woman" by Manfred Mann that's NTM, the Troggs fab forgotten "With a Girl Like You", The Who's "I'm a Boy", and a Sonny & Cher rarity, "Little Man" (no it's not about Sonny, har har).
oh and at #1: the Small Faces with "All or Nothing", also NTM.
-
Lawd! Lee Dorsey is so tired of workin' in a coal mine! (I guess it's not "sonic blackface" if you're actually, er, black).
and he's followed by one ofthe great "WTF?" records of all time: Napoleon XIV, "There Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-ha!"
-
another OMGWTF -- Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers (who?) in the Top 10, covering (faithfully) "Got To Get You Into My Life".
-
Mira! Mira! there's no escaping that damn Puerto Rican hairdresser. Now he's on 'LNG, and his chiffon is *always* wet.
