TJ salutes Mutual Of NY! Holy Moly MONY!

Don't you just miss Cronkite's cadence in announcing? :D

Cronkite pulls into Nazareth, feelin' 'bout half-past dead, and takes a load off his fanny.

not to mention his integrity.

As the Blues Bros said, "We're puttin' the Band back together!" ;)

Was that the Marvelettes or Martha Reeves & the Vandellas??
-
Best of Week to the fabulous Dells, giving Levi and the Tops a serious run for their money with the feverish "There Is"!

My BOS must be a magician!
Vinyl?
Actually I think whatever this is following it certainly is!

I was thinking the latter, but Mike convinced me I was wrong ...
-
BOS2 the Dells' incredible faux-town simulation, "There Is" -- fake Levi a week after his death (hope we get real Tops too).
-
Mike convinced me I was wrong ...
if only I could do that with all the McCain/Palin voters!

"Yesterday's Dreams" would make a PERFECT tune #10 today.
-
Assassination in color on CBS News?
BOS Beatles studio outtake!
-
Nice seg from work-in-progress "Jude" to the real thing.

Oh My Yes.

Yup. But feels weird to only give the Beatles (yay) an HM vote.

"HJ" was a song I worshipped back then (when I was 13) but now I really only need to hear it once a year, if that. Too many na-na-na's.
OMG, what a great RFK clip.

BOS3 to Los Bravos, "Bring a Little Water," one Dave hasn't trotted out in ages.

Fever for the SF Girl!

is this the other vinyl? This was totally NTM the last time Dave played it -- quite a rarity, not a NY hit. VHM.
and another VHM Fever Tree.

just have to say *way to go Dave*. Some good stuff. Yeah, gotta have some staples in there -- "Hey Jude" was a hit for a reason, I guess -- but nice job w these other ones from the fringes of the charts. Doesn't sound like the usual KFOG, which is a good thing!

Ditto -- after I dumped on Dave for a couple of very uninspired sets earlier in the week, I must say he's rebounded in a major way with yesterday's '74 set and now this, one of his best '68 sets in ages, with a bunch of new news clips instead of the ones he usually trots out. Kudos, Mr Morey!
-
holee crap -- an Amboy Dukes twin-spin? This sounds like vinyl to me.
-
Amboy Dukes double spin!
Its like getting hit by Nugent's double-barrel shotgun!
-
the Nooge!
(Grab your crossbow and) come along if you can!
-
An Amboy Dukes twin-spin? WTF?
(Hope Dave starts doing more stuff like this in his remaining days in SF.)

take yer hands off Dan Rather!

HM "Legend of a Mime."

Timothy Leary's, er, well, you know...

HM "Legend of a Mime."
Hey, keep it down! I'm trying to watch!

Cosmic set, man, cosmic!

"...oh man, the trails...."
-
HM "Legend of a Mime."
Hey, keep it down! I'm trying to watch!
You (and Wayback) may not know this, but I have a distaste for Timmy Leary: I still think he was a government plant. So I recast this song as an ode to Marcel Marceau.

Argh, Dave mis-called it "Bring a Little Lovin'."
Am I the only one who foregos the replays anymore?

It depends on how good the sets were. In the evening, if it was decent, i'll listen in bed (and usually drift off before it's over). If it was a worthless late '80s/early '90s thing, I'll take a pass. On Saturday... the days of setting the alarm for 7am are long gone. I turn it on when I get up and take my chances.

Unfortunately, having to listen via the web has changed my listening habits a bit. Given my relocation, I'm about as likely to listen in the evening as I am in the morning--it just depends on what I'm doing on a given day. If I've missed an obviously good set in the am, I'll make a bigger effort to tune in that night, but sometimes it's not convenient for me to be sitting at the computer. And I never listen on Saturdays anymore, although I rarely set the alarm to get up at 7 even when I lived in SF.

I would've liked to hear Fever Tree again. I don't really hear that kind of oldie anywhere else I listen.

My mistake: It IS called "Bring a Little Lovin'."
