-
pro'ly only here for a song or two before hitting the road for a 10:30 mtg.

Ack, I tuned in late! I haven't heard that one in years - yet another one Dave introduced me to way back in the late '90s.
-
Looking out for Katrina #1 -- and that's B(TO)!

proxy WOS for our old friend Razsty, BTO Lookin Out For Fake Jazz.
But still VHM for me, I played the heck out of my Best of BTO (So Far) LP back in the day.
-
Best. Doobs. Ripoff. EVAH. BOS the Bellamys, who had a long and prosperous country career after this. "Old Hippie" is one of the great pieces of '80s songwriting.
-
VHM for the Bellamy Bros, been a couple yrs since Dave grabbed this one off the shelf.
-
I think that's it for me, gotta run.
-
BOS1 to the Bellamy Bros, with a song that I thought Big & Rich could have covered for a big hit a couple of years ago. I've never heard their follow-up, "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me?"

"IISYHABB,WYHIAM?" was a #1 country single and barely made the Top 40 -- classic country songwriting.
Least necessary of set (and Dave ain't finished yet -- yikes): "Dreamweaver"

BOS to Gary Wright's Dream Wee-vah

-
OMFG! A Donna Summer bustout!!! BOS2 "Could it Be
Manilow Magic?"
-
Take it from Pete Rose: "A man wants to smell like a man, but he's perfectly fine singing like a tone-deaf cat w an Ohioan accent."

"Anywhere but there." Sounds like a workable compromise to me!

Bill Spooner used to live in the flat I currently inhabit!
BOS to the guy who used to live in my apt and his band!

Why - and how - is Pete Rose standing with present-day Joe Morgan, circa-1976 Vic Tayback, and present-day Eric Byrnes working at a Baskin-Robbins?
-
"It's just a travesty" that mshray is missing this. proxy of same.

Is this Kansas? New to me.

I think so, vocals sound correct. But I'm only certain on a few Kansas songs, and this aint one of them. This one gives prog a bad name. WOS.

so you're "like a maiden that is soon to be a bride" in relation to this song. Yes, it be Kansas, I do believe.
-
VHM "Serenade", a still-bearable (and not egregiously overplayed) Miller tune.
-
BOS, Steve Miller. Sounding fine this morning.

Thanks -- I've bookmarked you now.
BTW, speaking of blogs, I quite accidentally came across this odd Catholic rocker's blog, and he was trashing Vin Scelsa for his recent show about gay marriage. So of course I felt compelled to comment:

I loves Freddie, but Dave's gone to the "Good Company" well a few too many.

He's got a lot of time on his hands. Selective Bible interpretation is fun! (PS: What is "natural law"?)

I liked your response: it's very high road.
And I've bookmarked Gazoo's blog, too.
Interesting group of people on this board, I must say. I'm glad I found it.

Not too bad of a set. Surprised no one mentioned the Stones tune--that'd be my BOS1, along with the Tubes and Kansas (fra).

I arrived late and missed it, but it's never been one of my fave Stones tunes -- if I want Mick-goes-disco, I prefer "Miss You". Indeed, other than "Hand of Fate" and "Memory Motel", it's not a great LP IMHO (my dislike of "Fool To Cry" has been well-documented here).

Hell yeah that was Kansas. Thanks for the proxy. I can still clearly remember getting out of school promptly one winter afternoon and sloggin through the sluch with my friend John Harrison to catch the bus over to Peaches Records (which had just opened) to buy this LP.
No such thing as lousy Prog Rock! (but Asia doesn't count, super group arena prog sucks)

Despite what the KFOG website says (above), Dave's backannounce clearly said the BOS winner was the Tubes.
