That'd be OK.

And an early BOS candidate to U2, from Unforgettable Fire. Title is escaping me at the moment.

ETA: Wire?

Yep, it's gaining in popularity with Dave...3rd spin in the past 12 mos, vs. only 2 Db appearances prior to last Aug.

This sure sounds like Pink Floyd, but they've never appeared in an '84 set before.  Is this a wrong year spin of the one track Dave plays in '83, "Your Possible Pasts"?  I don't know the track well enough to be sure.

Oh twistin'....

Least necessary of set = Cars "Magic", although upon glancing at the Db I see it's not the massive Katrina I felt it was.

It's a David Gilmour track called Until We Sleep, off his About Face solo record. It appears once before, October of 2004.

I don't know who that was, but Pink Floyd did not occur to me...

Oh oh, It's Magic.  Proxy Wos for RGMike.

Oh dear god. Sally Field over-emoting at the Oscars.

Although the segue into Thomas Dolby's Hyperactive is kind of apt.

I was thinking of Hyperactive this morning.  No idea why, but glad to hear it now.

Good call on the apt segue.

And hey, I couldn't use the old stream address.  Had to go back to KFrOG website to launch the player.  Do you all have this problem?

Yes, it has been discussed on the Forum Feedback thread.  No solution yet.

Whoa, here's the song Mike will regret missing--Pretenders, I Hurt You. Total bustout. And one of three songs from Learning to Crawl that had never appeared in a 10@10. Now just two--Thumbelina and Watching the Clothes.

BOS #2 Pretenders, a deep track from the Learning To Crawl album.

I doubt we'll hear "Watching the Clothes" until some future HFH 'When Good Artists Go Bad' set.  But I love "Thumbelina" & often have wished for it.

Now this is really turning into a set Mike will regret missing.

3rd straight BOS vote for "You're the Best Thing"

BTW, the new and improved DB will be done today, anyone besides Gaz & Urth want me to mail it to them direct?  Geoff will get it linked shortly after I send it to him.

BOS #4 to JJ, "YCGWYWTYKWYW", the 4th song so far that has 2 or fewer prior appeances in the Db.  Quite exemplary for an 80's set on a Monday from Dave.

ETA: love the interplay between the horns and the bass on this.  Graham Maby rules!

Wow.  This is one of the best of the 80s for me.  Very surprised to hear it isn't a frequent flyer.

I was thinking much the same thing -- look up "filler" in the dictionary and you'll find "Watching the Clothes".  "Thumbelina" rocks.

BOS, Pretenders.
VHM, JJ.

Send it to me too please. The set sounds OK but I still just don't have much of an 80's connection.

I was going to hope for H&O, but that Style Council track scratched the itch nicely.  BOS2 to that, 3 to Joe Jackson, 4 to Thompson Twins, justifying Mshray's crystal ball.

"...and you can take that to the bank!"

Here's my Thompson Twins!  BOS #5, not nearly a bustout, but I loved this album back then.

And now..."Owner of a Boring Part".  Or at least that's what the Tenor Sax part was called when we played this in the Band.

screeching to a halt with "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" (sorry Yessongs!), but at least it isn't "Leave It" which is the real Katrina.

Surprisingly enough, Dave hasn't played this for 3 1/2 yrs!

Ending on a down note, the oft-heard Owner of a Lonely Heart. (Trevor Rabin did this band no favors, outside of a few million albums sold.) Still a pretty great set considering the year. Thumbs up.

ETA: I guess it just seems oft-heard, since it's still in the KFOG rotation. But I stand by my estimation of Trevor Rabin.

Just noticed that the BB tune does appear once in the DB, nearly four years ago--July 23 of '04. Still quite the rarity--and sharing the BOS vote at that. Methinks this will be heard more often.

Yeah, I was gonna add that, just because Dave hasn't played it for years, doesn't mean I haven't heard it more than I needed to in the meantime.

Hmmm.. I didn't know Boomer Esiason could sing ;)

Actually -- I think that woulda been a bustout if it had appeared in the actual set.
