Missed by a mile--gladly!
And We gotta get you a woman--Todd at his least politically correct.

Todd has since claimed that it's the *songs*, not the girls, that "may be stupid but they sure are fun."
-
BOS1 to "Smiling Faces Sometimes," phenomenal production, and later name-checked in the coda to "Back Stabbers."
-
Smiling faces show no traces of the evil that lurks within.
BOS, Undisputed Truth (and nice segue from Charlie Manson clip).

Double Soul -- Chi-Lites, no longer happy as a lark. In the park.

VHM, Have You Seen Her.
This intro rap is easily the precursor to Love Jones.

You're right on both counts. Who's Next rules. And this is a bustout, according to the latest shraytabase.

Big agreement from me -- Woo Hoo!!
-
BOs2 to "Mother Freedom." The least Bread-y of Bread's hits.
low-carb Bread.
-
Oy vey! Another bustout, I'm nearly certain--Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, Canned Music.
ETA: Not quite--one previous appearance, more than three years ago. Need to learn to check the database first, before making those sweeping statements.
-
Mick pix hix lix (translaton: BOS4 Dan Hicks)
-
Even better... BOS: Dan Hicks!!
-
BOs2 to "Mother Freedom." The least Bread-y of Bread's hits.
low-carb Bread.
What's this jazz thing? Sounds like the Manhattan Transfer with John Phillips arranging.

Thank you all for answering my question before I asked it!

We're surging into 10-way tie territory if you ask me.

Dan Hicks/Hot Licks -- and amazingly it's *not* a bustout.

Wow, on top of all that we get my favorite Stones song.
Awesome set, especially coming hard on the heels of Ginger's equally awesome set.
-
she's got... massive boobs! or something. BOS-infinity Stones, making their 3rd appearance of the morning.

Yeah, most certainly. Dave's taking Ginger's fab 73 set as a serious challenge. It's a 10@10 smackdown!
BOSX+1 Stones, Can't You Hear Me Knockin'

"Down goes GIN-jah! Down goes GIN-jah!"
(Actually, I still give her the edge for Best Set of Day)

Is it just me or have there been a couple of minor skips in the middle of Mick's guitar solo?

Was it Gaz who was inquiring about Mick Taylor on one of the earlier Stones tracks today? Here he is at his finest.

Dave's just put this over the top with my adored "L.A. Goodbye." The version I bought off iTunes was a later re-recording (though to be fair, the vocals on it are very good).
-
no bustout this: "LA Goodbye", an obscure mid-charter but a Morey (and Gaz) fave

I suspect people were confused by it sounding so dissimilar from "Vehicle." They should have released it under an assumed name!

Like, The Doobie Bros (I often confuse it with "South City Midnight Lady", which it actually predates). Or Hall & Oates ( who it also came before).
