The Brothas want to use their Johnson to love you girl, in a special way (as opposed to, y'know, the regular way).
-
DUUUUDE! KISS! Detroit! Rock City! BOS!
-
Big discussion of the talkbox (think: Do You Feel Like We Do?) on the morning show today, and how it works. So I'd bet we hear some Frampton, likely featuring that very gadget.

Do you, you... feel like we will?

Steve M keeps on rockin. Where is this in the '76 Katrina race? (admittedly a wider playing field here than, say, '89)

never mind "Rock'N'Me" -- now we're getting Bohemian, which is just uncalled for. Loved the hip-hop cover by the Braids, tho'.

Hard as this may be to believe (and I'm a bit agog myself)--it's not in the DB. A first-timer (within the parameters, blah, blah, blah). That said, we've heard it so often in regular daily play that it must just seem like one.
-
bos: boz!
-
Alright now--BOS to Boz and Georgia, a long-forgotten track that used to be a fave from Silk Degrees. And it too is a DB bustout.
-
OMFG, BOS2 Boz, "Georgia" -- closest to a rarity we'll get today, I bet. "Your daddy was high the night he dreamed up you" -- great line.
-
bos: boz!
agreed!
and when was the last time we had both Alicat & POC posting during a set? coolness.
-
bos: boz!
princess, we will be together dear!
Does your avatar indicate you saw that movie and liked it? That makes you the only one, based on the reviews it got. ;)
-
and woohoo to zztop!
-
BOS, ZZTop -- another rarity, and I'm not such a Boz fan...
-
Holy Flaming Mother of God! ZZT, "Arrested For Driving While Blind"! another bustout? Dave's in a good mood for somebody with a cold. BOS3.

So hologramic...

TANC: Dave played Springsteen's "Living in the Future" this AM and I noticed a trace of TVC15 in the melody, similar to his Tommy Tutone cribbing.

damn fine second half! bowie and todd...

damn fine second half! bowie and todd...
Dave plays a LOT of Todd, but this one notsomuch. VHM.
-
BOS3, Todd Black and White. Another bustout, I'm certain.

You're probably right -- except for Queen, this has been bustouts'n'rarities all around. Amazing. Well, except for ABBA, maybe ;) Bet Dave can't WAIT for the movie next year.
-
Ick. I'll forgive Abba after all the good rarities today. But, seriously... ick.
-
ugh. abba.
why why, do you ever diss them so? Bet you'll be first in line to hear the Streep sing this next summer.

that's different!

VHM Mr Joel, tho' after hearing the Ronnie Spector version again recently, this pales.

I don't know that I've ever heard this before. It rocks!
Yeah you right. It's on Faithful, an album he did with one side of note-by-note covers (Good Vibrations, Rain, If 6 was 9) and another side of originals. Pretty good record.
That screaming I'm now hearing must be Mike in reaction to BJ's Say Goodbye to Hollywood. Yet another bustout?

Yep, I saw it right after I posted that. I misjudged you, I guess. And yes, he has--twice.

Dave has often professed love for Turnstiles, which has 8 songs; Dave's played (afaik) 5 of them (in bold):
1. Say Goodbye to Hollywood
2. Summer, Highland Falls
3. All You Wanna Do Is Dance
4. New York State of Mind
5. James
6. Prelude/Angry Young Man
7. I've Loved These Days
8. Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)
Bonus: Ramones, "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend"! (not to be confused with the Rubinoos song of the same name)
-
Fine set. Listened but too visible to post. Waiting for replay #s 6-8. Didn't hear those well. Work's a bitch.
12/05/2007 - Wednesday!! Another look at...1976!!!
1. Brothers Johnson - I'll Be Good to You
2. Kiss - Detroit Rock City (Alicat BOS)
3. Steve Miller Band - Rockin' Me
4. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
5. Boz Scaggs - Georgia (BEST OF SET!!)
6. ZZ Top - Arrested for Driving While Blind
7. David Bowie - TVC-15
8. Todd Rundgren - Black & White
9. ABBA - Mamma Mia
10. Billy Joel - Say Goodbye to Hollywood
BONUS TRACK: Ramones - I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend

Replay BOS from me. I finally got around to listening to his troika of mid-late-'70s albums over Thanksgiving, and suspect I'll always associate "Georgia" with Prospect Park awash with freshly fallen leaves.

Haven't heard tvc-15 in ages. Waiting for Todd
