The thread she is up.
-
Dramarama with a nice TOTHK -- still rather rare 10@10-wise, I'm thinking.
-
TOTHK - Ferris Bueller's Day Off ---> Dramarama "Anything Anything (I'll Give You)"

Crapton -- almost always unnecessary in the '80s. ;)
-
Eric Clapton "It's In The Way That You Use It"

-
Prince and The Revolution "Kiss"

-
Prince's "Kiss" is a major LN at this point -- when I think of all the songs of his we haven't heard...
-
Aliens ---> The Cure "Boys Don't Cry"
-
"Boys Don't Cry" -- not rare but I'll give it a VHM. Hoping the song "Boys Don't Cry" isn't followed by the *band* of that name with "Wanna Be a Cowboy".
-
OMFG: country! Dwight Yoakam, "Guitars Cadillacs" -- a *huge* BOS from me. And a surprising bustout -- was this requested? (I asked for Steve Earle "Guitar Town", but this will do.
-
Dwight Yoakam "Guitars, Cadillacs"
BOS so far.
-
Pretty in Pink -- a clip we've heard a gazillion times. oops: Sleep Train commerical started.
followed by... "Into The Groove" covered by... ??
-
Pretty In Pink ---> Sleep Train commercial by accident ---> Ciccone Youth "Into The Groove(y)"
(http://cdn.discogs.com/p7Z792IntD7bOSHtrObGbj1cu9E=/fit-in/300x300/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb()/discogs-images/R-366612-1420557830-9654.jpeg.jpg)
-
another big LN: Smiffs, "Ask"

Was wondering if this was Ciccone Youth. Nicely played!
If this is the only way we can get AL to play Madonna songs, I approve.
-
The Clapper commercial ---> The Smiths "Ask"
-
more overplayed PiP clips --> the PsyFurs sndtk remake of the title tune. Meh.
-
More Pretty In Pink (butchering John Lennon's "Love") ---> Psychedelic Furs "Pretty In Pink"
ETA: Eight songs in and it's only 10:28.
-
The Stranglers "Always The Sun"

I've been using the phrase "If you don't ask, you don't get" for years, and just now realized it's part of the lyrics for this song. Guess I owe Hugh Cornwell some royalties. :)
BOS3 (along with the Dwight Yoakam and Ciccone Youth tunes).
-
Hands Across America --> "Graceland". Well, at least it's not "Call Me Al". VHM.
-
Hands Across America ---> Paul Simon "Graceland"

The album was originally released in 1980 (in US). A remix of BDC was re-released in '86, but I don't know if we got that one. Hmm, I dunno. It's sorta cheating.

I'm guessing she looked at the "alternative" charts for '86 and played the orig without thinking.

This was a not-bad set with 2 very unexpected bustouts and a couple fairly egregious FFs.
-
Someone on AL's FB expressed his displeasure for the Dwight Yoakam -- yet it got the most BOS votes! :)

Considering how frequently he seems to have his requests played, you'd think he'd be a little more reserved about expressing his narrow-minded opinions.

Lol, I guessed who that was before checking. And I was right. :P

Ditto. Bonus point for anticipating a misspelled word.
